Release Thread - 0.99t

Note: I have also released an updated version of the server (0.6.5) for this client. If you run a server, you need to upgrade.

Planning to make the next one the 1.0 beta, so will create a thread later where we can do some brainstorming.

[X] Change the way effects/abilities on the stack are drawn.
Draw the original card instead, with the proper caption to show it's not a real spell. This way any changes on the original are reflected properly without having to code too much. Apply to copies of abilities also, there is at least one card that can copy an ability.

[X] Change references to "play" into "battlefield" and "rfg" into "exile". This will require a massive walkthrough of the code and the hardcoded text in it. While doing this, need to implement some sort of "translation" system that will handle all these texts so I don't have to do this everytime WOTC gets an itch to scratch.

[X] Fix the cube drafting bug where the set code for cards in boosters is returned as the cube code, not as the set code provided in the cube file.

[X] Copy the update/download menu items for Tokens in the Token Manager to the Extra menu where the other update menu items are.

[X] Cleanup abandoned tables on the server. Will need a server setting to indicate after how many minutes a table without any users is to be marked as abandoned. Allow players to change this time before destroy. Add options to also disallow or to make players have certain flags to do this.

[X] Game start settings: Handsize, life total.
Before this goes to the Game Definition file, need to be able to change this in the client and in the "new table panel". Server could also have some settings to force a default, in case you want to run a optserver for another game. Also allowing in game changes by the table owner for direct challenges.

[X] Add Alt+Click = DoubleClick functionality. Make sure it doesn't break any other Alt+Click commands, but as I don't like to combine Alt with anything (Ctrl, Shift is better), it shouldn't give much problems.

[X] Mulligan with an empty hand should draw the default hand size.

[X] Rearrange the popup menu for permanents, move lots of items that are hardly used to a submenu. Need to add a 2nd submenu for some of them like 'change control' in multiplayer and 'doesn't untap'.

[X] Add a 'sacrifice' menu item for permanents, could put this in a submenu for 'to graveyard' in order to keep the menu from cluttering up, also add a 'destroy'. Do the same for the hand with 'discard'

[X] Created a Table Manager where users can keep a list of favorite tables to create.

[X] /packs command to create any number of boosters, starters, etc in a single command that will return the pack as a decklist much like /sealed and /booster do.

[X] Fix bug for moving cards from one hand to another.
Currently, it seems to trigger the hand-reorder method and hides the affected card.

[X] Simplify the account creation process. Single form, enter desired username, pw, email (optional). Maybe a "check username available" button. Submit should create an account on the server and add an entry to the servers menu or return an error message.

[X] Allow people to run a server where users do not need to register. Would be an option on the main server panel. Users would still be able to create accounts and these names will be protected from use by others. Will allow easy access to servers of friends without having to create an account everywhere.

[X] Fix the bug for adding (multiple) tokens. It seems you get double the amount, where each extra token lies preciesly under another. Update: There was a loop within a loop causing you to get N x N tokens... no probem with N = 1, but ... you know.

[X] Change the output/display text for drag&drop for an ability on the stack when removing it from the stack, keep in line with texts from popup menu.

[X] Add a way to quickly set a card as a copy of another card. Also allow for a quick reset.

[X] Made a little error in thinking Tribal is a supertype, while it's a card type, my bad. Needs a little fixing though. Added the other card types (plane, scheme, vanguard) also and created a new cards file. Also did some work for supertypes (world and ongoing)

[X] Add a popup menu for the highlight card to flip it.

Things (I feel) are needed for a 1.0 beta:

1) The Fixing of the placing cards over tapped cards bug. This is, imo, a dealbreaker, as it makes the program feel clunky and unrefined.

2) The packaging of Pinecones theme with the program. No offence intended, but it's much nicer than the default GUI. :)

3) Have Alt-clicking the Untap/Draw Phase move you to the upkeep/main phase the same way as double clicking it does when "Doubleclick Untap/Draw Step to Untap Permanents/Draw a Card" and "Proceed to next step" are selected in the Interface settings, As to match the behaviour in MWS.

4) Doubleclick Untap/Draw Step to Untap Permanents/Draw a Card" and "Proceed to next step" options checked by default, again to help the MWS players who are scared and confused by good programing!

5) Rename the "Auto-Tap" setting in game settings to "Auto-Untap." Seems a bit confusing.

6) PNG support. Not actually needed, but if it's not too difficult, it would be nice. Feel free to ignore this one if it is actually difficult.

7) Keep the Card names unhidden by default (the way that it is without a card image) even if a card image is found to make it easier to read card names.

OVER 8000!!!!!!!!) I like Pudding and I wish I could send you Pudding Jorbes because Pudding is awesome. Also, feel free to tell me to go DIAF if at any point I am annoying.

9) Have cards that always come into play tapped automagically do so even if you don't Control+Alt Click them, as well as have cards that come into play with a set (or minimum) number of counters come into play with them, similar to how Planeswalkers do.

10) Submenus for the token menu as it's OMFGHUEG!

11) The ability to dock zones to different parts of the board.

12) The ability to do all possible actions from the main menu at the top. ATM I can't seem to (say) reveal the top card of my library without having the library zone visible, which might be hidden as per user preference. Let me know if I missed this one.

13) Change the Default colour for text when Browsing (for example) the library. Pink is hard on the eyes. This MIGHT be a fault of Wine however, so if it's not supposed to be pink, ignore this.

Again, I am sorry for rambling on. Always remember that you are the most awesome thing since the All Powerful Flying Spaghetti Monster (may his Noodly appendages keep us all firmly to the ground) invented Awesomium. =D>

oh sheesh... the original theme isn't bad! plus i think there are some things in my theme that would keep it from being distributed, (like official MTG card backings) but i'm not sure.

The MWS themes on this site seem to get away with official backs and mana symbols! :p

I'm not saying the original theme is bad, it's not. It's just your one is more gooder!

There's no problem distributing a theme with backs and symbols, etc, but such a theme can not be bundled with OPT.

Back in the day, a fan "Tinefol" made the current theme.
It may be time to update it, to get a fresh look.
He also made the current cardback, which I think look great. I can package any theme with OPT as long as there aren't any copyright issues with it. (Obv. I also will not package any inappropriate themes, like ones with nudity and whatnot)

The server the latest release is held on seems to be down. Anyone got a mirror or alternate link for me?

#14) Sorry! Perhaps make it an option that Alt-Click or D-Clicking a Creature while in the Declare Attacks phase auto-marks it as attacking, the same way as MWS.

#15) Is there a way to have your hand in list format? I AM A MORAN. Clicking the Hand icon in the Player panel does this. IGNORE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, I did find a weird behaviour. D-Clicking from the Hand List moves a card to the Revealed Zone instead of to the battlefield like from the full hand.

#16) Any chance of an option so that Left Clicking the library/Grave/Hand etc. icon in the player panel doesn't browse the library/grave/hand etc? Mainly to prevent accidentally library viewing.

#17) Rclicking the Library in the Player Panel gives a sexy menu, but not for any other zone! D: Add them? Pweese? <3

like.

also a colored border around attackers/blockers in addition to or instead of the word would be nice.
