just preemptive... what is the process to update OPT to the new set once it drops, and how long does it normally take to get the files ready?

also a friend from my playgroup was wondering if you had thought of accommodating the two different types of booster packs that will be available for drafting with the new set.

anything on gatherer can be put in a cards file.

I have not heard anything about a new type of booster.

Here: http://www.wizards.com/magic/tcg/events ... ease-facts. You choose Mirran or Phyrexian boosters to play. They only have cards that are in that faction and not the other (exept the Planeswalker).

pfff, wizards.. what are you doing to me! LOL

The only way I see a direct solution for this is to create seperate Mirran/Phyrexian card sets. This way you can create boosters for either one of these. like MBS-M and MBS-P

Long term I could add metadata for each card, then somehow you could specify for a boosterpack to include only/ignore only those cards with a certain metadata. For example, for Mirran you would ignore all phyrexian cards, so you get both the cards without metadata and the mirran ones.

maybe easiest route to accommodating that would be the ability to feed the server information. like basically telling the server that you want to use a certain set of cards as set and use that for drafting... similar to a cube.

sure, you could always make a custom cube for a particular set.
remind me to explain cube files and what can be done with booster override files, it's quite nice to use.

it's best to let OPT build a new cards file using gatherer.
when the cards file switches to xml, it's possible to create some sort of "insert new set" option.

however, if you can supply a txt file with the following format for each card, I can patch it in today.

Name: Abbey Gargoyles
Cost: 2WWW
Type: Creature — Gargoyle
Pow/Tgh: (3/4)
Rules Text: Flying, protection from red
Set/Rarity: Masters Edition II Uncommon, Fifth Edition Uncommon, Homelands Uncommon

Name: Adarkar Sentinel
Cost: 5
Type: Artifact Creature — Soldier
Pow/Tgh: (3/3)
Rules Text: {1}: Adarkar Sentinel gets +0/+1 until end of turn.
Set/Rarity: Masters Edition II Common, Ice Age Uncommon

corrent, i've added the From the vault and Duel Decks as well as the ME4.

every OPT release I add the latest mtg.cards as well.

"some day", there will be a "build your own patch" webpage.

no :)

that would take too long, opt has it's own source compiled from that website though.

haha. ok, but basically after it gets updated in on the official site, you are going to update it on the OPT site?

yes, i have that process streamlined now, so it's no trouble at all.
