New look for Home Screen menu panel
by drdev » 02 Aug 2013, 06:35
I just started up development of a Card/Set Editor (http://svn.slightlymagic.net/forge/bran ... dSetEditor). I realized adding a Card/Set Editor button to the Home Screen wouldn't look good with the way the Exit Forge and Deck Editor buttons were currently laid out, so I decided to reorganize the Home Screen menu panel to accommodate it. The Deck Editor, Card/Set Editor, and Exist Forge buttons are now in a column below the logo, and I increased the size of the logo and decreased the width of the panel to get rid of all the extra horizontal whitespace. To get back some of the lost vertical space, I went ahead and removed the extra padding above each format group. See below for before and after screenshots and let me know what you think. I'm certainly open to suggestions.

See http://www.cardforge.org/bugz/view.php?id=659.
If you can add a way of scrolling the left hand menu options when the screen size is not big enough to show all options at once that would be a big help!
I think 800 x 600 is the minimum size that Forge can be shown.
Cheers,
Steve

I was thinking of doing that. I'll see what I can do.

I just committed the home screen improvements to the trunk (minus the Card/Set Editor button), which includes scroll support for the menu. How do you want to handle resolving that bug report?

You should be listed as a developer and be able to resolve it yourself.drdev wrote:I just committed the home screen improvements to the trunk (minus the Card/Set Editor button), which includes scroll support for the menu. How do you want to handle resolving that bug report?

OK, I wasn't sure if spr needed to close it since it was assigned to him. I'll close it then.

Nah, I'd say if you end up doing the work, just switch the assignment to yourself as you resolve it.drdev wrote:OK, I wasn't sure if spr needed to close it since it was assigned to him. I'll close it then.

Great solution!
Cheers,
Steve

The task is already closed but you might want to update details about your changes and re-assign to yourself. TBH, the issue tracker does not seem to be used that much - everybody just seems to use the forum.drdev wrote:OK, I wasn't sure if spr needed to close it since it was assigned to him.
