I would go along with that (bumping the number).

I don't post nearly as often as my brother (timmermac) here on the forums. Is there anyone here who has a quest preferences text file from scratch for this version? The Snapshot that I downloaded from my bro doesn't have one.
When playing, card text is important. Read and understand it. It will usually prevent most errors.

The "quest.preferences" file is created and saved when you start your first quest.

Quest button -> Quests tab -> Embark! button.

Perhaps also we should decide/post a date for the following release, when each one is published?

I'm thinking maybe in the next version thread that Chris usually starts, something like "release target: 16 Mar 2012" - that's two weeks later (btw Friday is 2 March on my calendar :) ).

I added a minor update to the README.txt file. The new material is at the end of the quoted text below (see number two):

After downloading and installing a newer version of Forge you may want to move certain files from the older version over to the newer version of Forge. You should maintain your older version of Forge as a back up in case you make a mistake while installing the newer version.

1) The /res/pics/ folder contains the card pictures, token pictures (mtg card tokens an quest pet/plant tokens) and the booster package images. Please note that the /res/pics/icons/ folder was moved out of this folder and placed in the /res/images/ folder.

The /res/images/icons/ folder contains the quest opponent icons, small quest pet/plant icons (non-tokens) and some icons that are used by forge's quest mode. While several of these pictures ship with the forge archive most of them have to be downloaded using the Home screen -> Utilities -> Download Quest Images command.

2) The /res/decks/ folder contains your deck files. You should copy over the files with the extension ".dck". In version 1.2.4 and later the /decks/ folder contains 4 subdirectories named constructed, cube, draft and sealed.

You can place your deck files from an earlier version of Forge into the /res/decks/ folder. When you next launch Forge these decks will be converted to a newer format and will be moved into the proper subdirectory.
`
As long as we have this note we could avoid the minor version number change. I guess that a little documentation is probably needed more that the number change. :)

Nice. Now that timmermac (my brother, twins at that!) has got me in, expect double trouble....

I was thinking about the possibility of adding a new bug report topic that deals solely with either the snapshots that come out daily, or, with the update (soon) to 1.2.4, creating a bug report topic that stays strictly to 1.2.x (Starting with 4). Having a massive bug report topic is good, but can get tedious for the new players (like me), especially when you don't know where to start!

Is this a wise idea to do either/or or can both be done?

Each release does have it's own topic, announcing the release, and I have been trying to steer people towards reporting their bugs in that section. This way we know just be which topic they are posting, what version they have, since different versions have different bugs/fixes.

@timmermac - Ahh, that's a new bug actually, only showing up now from the indexing fix. Smashed, and the avatar select UI rebuilt at the same time (old one was an experiment, turns out I didn't like it).

Should be fixed:

- Quest deck select persist bug (edessa)
- Avatar indexing bug #2 (timmermac)

If anyone knows of any broken image downloads or quest icons not downloading, please let me know so that I can get them all up to date before the beta release.

EDIT: Okay, added the following quest opponent icons (uploaded and revised dl links):
* Edna Krabappel.jpg
* El Sabah Nur.jpg
* Green Hornet.jpg
* Oreius.jpg (image name was originally Centaur01.jpg. Advise if I should change it back)
* The Spectre.jpg

Thank you marc. Two things:

El Sabah Nur.jpg should be En Sabah Nur.jpg.
The picture of Blind with Anger is called Blind With Anger at cardforge.org and will not be downloaded because of that.

I did some refactoring to eliminate array-to-list and then vice versa conversions (see cardList, PlayerZone classes) and those who use them.
The changes are quite simple, but I didn't have a change to give them heavy playtest. So if anything gets broken, that might be the cause
