Those are catchy, which is why they've been used before. lolChris H. wrote:I like Adventure Quest or Travel Quest.
Forgewalker is cool. The protagonist walks around, his name is Luke Forgewalker, and his motto is "May the Forge Be With You".

I haven't had much time to spend on this the last week (instead, I just added some Forge cards
), but last night I did and I managed to add music in the game (for some of the towns/menus). Didn't notice any performance issues with this (yet), so I'm curious if it runs well on other systems... will fix some bugs and release another test version soon!

Well my computer is probably about as old as you get. Because my computer only has 256 MB of RAM it runs out of memory. (I need to buy a new computer.)
People seem to really enjoy your fantasy quest and Forge Shandalar is a great addition that I would have never thought of.

I think the map would need at least 512 megs to run (looking at the memory usage whenever I run it) ... I haven't tested it on anything smaller than 2 gigs.
By the way, I ran into an awesome open source game called "Battle for Wesnoth" (http://www.wesnoth.org/). It has some great great sprites and music, it's on a GPL license, so it's fair game to use them

I've got 1 GB, and the test version you released a while back runs reasonably well.

Dennis, battle for Wesnoth really is as awesome as it looks. I found that a few years back and played the heck out of that game, tons of fun and nice sprites indeed. If memory serves some of the campaigns have Dwarves, Trolls, etc. so you could definitely put together a nice dungeon map filled with all sorts of baddies.

I concur Dennis. Battle for Wesnoth has been available on the Mac for years. I've dabbled in it a bit and have always been very impressed with the look & playability of the game. Your mod would look very cool if this is the way you are thinking of leaning towards.

Hey Denise,
I just found this thread and can't wait to see the final product.
Any update?

I've been pretty busy with real life stuff... however, I have been working on this almost every day. So there's some progress, but not a whole lot.
At least the card shops work now, there's music and also a few new towns/quests/random enemies.
By the way, instead of using the predefined random encounters I've been using, we could start using Rob's theme deck generator to generate opponent decks.

Yes, I could use some help with those... if someone would be willing to spend time building themes (for specific creatures? Or perhaps for now something more generic?), I'll start coding functionality for this.

I think generic themes are fine for this. Depending on where we want to go with this we can fine tune the decks, but if we build a handful of deck themes, it'll be a good start. I'll look through the theme stuff and see if I can write a deck up. I'll make sure the AI uses it decent before I submit.DennisBergkamp wrote:Yes, I could use some help with those... if someone would be willing to spend time building themes (for specific creatures?
