Perhaps the Pixel Commander could arrange his troops in a celebratory salute of some sort?

I pu together a little fluff piece to honor the 10,000th card submission:

This version of Forge serves in part as a celebration of a recent milestone which was recently reached. The 10,000th card was added to Forge. The system which allows cards to be scripted rather then individually coded has made this possible. This is major goal to reach as there is only about a total of 12.246 different unique cards as of October 2011 that have been produced.
We had initially thought that we would find someone in particular to add the 10,000th card to our SVN and this individual would serve as the leader and figure head of our accomplishment and it's celebration. The potential candidates were struck with a sense of humbleness and did not feel comfortable drawing attention to themselves.
Forge is the result of several dozen people's contributions over the last five years or so. I might be able to put together a list of names for most of these people. Someone would be bound to be left out though.
So in closing, we all should celebrate our accomplishment, play a game of Forge and enjoy our selves.

Maybe this would be a good time to thank the people who pay for (and maintain) the servers and whatnot?
Also, maybe a nod to mtgrares - I think he started the project in the first place?

Ah, thank you for the input.
Let me add in a little more detail and I will post a second revision of the anouncement piece. If anyone else has any suggestion please let me know and I will add in your suggestions.
BTW:
If the person who actually commits the 10,000th card wants a brief mention then I will add it into the anouncement piece. Let me know and I will try to thank the person in a toned down fashion.

A second version:

This version of Forge serves in part as a celebration of a recently reached milestone. The 10,000th card was added to Forge. Forge has a system which allows cards to be scripted rather than individually coded. This goal was not easy to reach as there is only about a total of 12,246 different unique cards as of October 2011 that have been produced.
We initially thought that we would find someone in particular to add the 10,000th card to our SVN and that this individual would serve as the leader and figure head of our accomplishment and it's celebration. The potential candidates were struck with a sense of humbleness and did not feel comfortable drawing attention to themselves.
Forge is the result of several dozen people's contributions over the last five years or so. I considered putting together a list of names but realized that I would likely fail to include some of these people.
Forge was stated by Rares and we would like to thank him for getting this project started. He was not able to continue his involvement and handed the project over to the open source community. A diverse group of people with different talents stepped in over the last few years and have moved the project forward.
We also would like to thank the CCGH web site and it's administrators for providing us with the forge forum. And the people who maintain the servers which assists this project in one fashion or another. We want to thank the user base for their support. We also want to thank the various people who have reported various bugs and to thank the people who have made creative suggestions on how to improve areas of the forge project.
So in closing, we all should celebrate our accomplishment, play a game of Forge and enjoy our selves.

I just had to have a go:
The Forge team is very proud to announce that more than 10,000 cards are now available for play! This is an impressive amount, particularly considering that as of October 2011, the official game has produced 12,246 unique cards.
MTGRares, the creator of Forge, made an easy scripting system to allow cards to be written generically (not individually). Five years ago, he generously shared his work as an open source project, and dozens of people have contributed their talents to evolve the codebase to the point it's reached today: a game engine that can successfully juggle 10^5 unique cards, available for free.
The honor of writing the 10,000th card has gone to an unnamed hero, which is suitable since it's these brave code warriors that make the game what it is. A well-deserved thanks to anyone who has volunteered their time to script, test, maintain, report, code, suggest, debug, design, or in any way contribute to this project.
A special thanks in particular to the CCGH web site and its administrators for providing us with the Forge forum, and to the unsung team of people who quietly maintain the servers which assist this project in one fashion or another.
With this in mind, we move onward and upward. Enjoy your next game of Forge!

Uhhh except Rares didn't make an easy scripting system, most cards back then were hardcoded or french vanilla. The AbilityFactory and related classes are only about a year old.

Anyone know what the most requested card on the forum is? If so, that could be number 10000. I seem to recall a land that started with a V.

That one's right up there. It can't be done currently (or at least last time I tried), but I don't think we're impossibly far away from handling it.jeffwadsworth wrote:Anyone know what the most requested card on the forum is? That and Sorin Markov (but I don't see that one happening in the near future).

I'll publish the fluff piece, which is very nice, on my blog when I post Forge (that has 10,000 or more cards). Thanks to Forge's many, many contributors. "Though one straw is week, many are strong."

I think that the plan is to add the fluff piece/announcement to the changes.txt file with the next beta release v1.2.3. I assume that as part of this release we will have a large number of new cards from Dark Ascension also added to Forge and that this will help to propel us to the 10,000+ mark.

So now you're

Time to change the tune of his fearful ballad
C is for "Lettuce," that's good enough for me
