Unable to download some card images

Not entirely sure if this is a bug or not but figured this would be the best place to post. When using the content download for the LQ pictures, the window states that 119 images have been found and the LQ sets window states that 484 were found. I click to download them. It gives me the normal progress bar, but afterwards when I check again the numbers haven't changed. It doesn't seem to matter how many times I download the images they never seem to actually download, a quick look into the pics folder show M14 and Modern masters folders are empty. I deleted the whole folder and started again but this didn't fix the issue. Is there somewhere else I can get the latest images from?

We request that people read the announcement message for each beta release or to read the CHANGES.txt file that is included in the Forge archive.

The following note was included in both:

- New M14 cards -
Forge now includes most of the new M14 cards. It may take a few days before these new card pictures become available for downloading via the "Download LQ Card Pictures" button. The LQ set pictures tend to take a few more weeks to process before they become available for downloading via the "Download LQ Set Pictures" button. Please be patient.

Oh that I know, my problem is more that the downloader doesn't seem to actually be downloading those last 119/484.

As suggested by the post Chris pointed to, those images aren't downloading because they're not yet available. The downloader picks them up as missing, hence the 119 that it won't download. Perhaps we need to just change the verbiage to say xxx images missing or somesuch.

Ah right, think I get it now. I didn't think that the downloader would find images that weren't yet available but that only the ones that have been placed on the downloader's server... wish i'd known that before I spent the best part of 2 and a half hours redownloading, lol. Thanks for explaining.

The downloader isn't based on what the server has available, it's based on the card + sets that Forge knows about.

I usually upload the set images. The images available so far are the Gatherer images which are slightly lower res than what I've been uploading for the last while. I usually wait for the HQ release then batch process them down to 250px wide (keeping the HQ aspect ratio). I don't normally upload the gatherer images because then users miss the better quality images that usually follow after a few weeks. The non-set pics are just grabbed directly from Gatherer so I don't do anything there - they just work as long as the Picture line is correct in the script.

Still, how to provide pictures from the new set before the hq release their scans is a question. Taking a broader look at this problem I think of different configurable pictures providers to use as download sources. Player may download list of recommended sites with their picture naming conventions and grab pictures there.
