Scrub that - I have got it working by running a PlaneChase game. I guess what I am really asking is whether there are any match formats where Command view is redundant?

Hey Steve, might I recommend you start a thread specifically about UI issues and improvements (maybe rename this thread)? I've been meaning to make a post discussing potential areas for change/improvement (including the command zone,) but all of the open topics seem a bit specific. I'm not sure if it's appropriate for me to do it since I'm not really contributing to the effort.
[edit: I believe in constructed the only type of card which goes into the command zone at the moment are emblems. To be hyper-vigilant about it, the command zone should be accessible in every sanctioned format except block constructed for blocks which do not have cards which specifically reference it.]

Re:redundant command zones:I don't think so, Steve.Closest would be constructed but no matter what format/block you play you're likely to have either emblems or effects around.
