Help? I tried debugging and got totally lost in the property methods, beyond the fact that ForgeProps.properties.getProperty("decks-dir", File.class) seems to cause the exception by returning null.

you don't have the newest version. update your version from SVN, and check again. maybe it's already solved. I can't see how this error is happening, besides an out of date properties file, but the properties and the deck format were submitted together...

Ah, thank you, it seems I missed the res folder while updating. Also, I think I have caught the "Dark Ritual\\Snow Instant" bug, which occurred due to the snow mana pool being the one fetched by AllZone.Human_Play.getName("Mana Pool").getCard(0). I have now changed it(and others) to use AllZone.ManaPool.

Please update this line before you commit your changes.
Official beta is the date when Dennis released a beta the last time, so only he has to change that. SVN revision is the revision number in subversion - basically increased by one every time, if no one forgets to update that number. you can also look up the current revision number at google code.

this line is shown in error reports so that it's easier to spot the reason for bugs - maybe it's already fixed in the current version

this is not a thrown exception, it's just a debug statement to show where a requested property is not present. basically, nothing has changed from the last version, you just see that not everything works like it should

I have checked out the Forge SVN code and I have used the Synchronize SVN (Workspace) tool to make my local version up-to-date with the newer versions on google.

I have noticed that Eclipse has one Outgoing change in the entire workspace to make. The Team Synchronizing perspective is displaying a folder named ".settings" which contains a file named ".project". The contents of this file contains:

Are other people seeing the same thing? When you move your local changes to the SVN do you also move the contents of this ".project" file?

I would also like to request permission to become a project committer. I will initially keep my changes to simple repairs to the card.txt file and maybe a few simple repairs to the code. Nothing complicated to start with.

This should help to reduce Dennis' burden as I will be able to continue with these efforts on my own without relying on Dennis' help and assistance.

could be that you're looking for the info in "How is development going?", but if you're really not a commiter yet, best mail forge directly.

you definitely don't have to commit .project etc. this is eclipse metadata which we don't need synchrinized. I don't know if we actually do, though

With the latest SVN I'm having some trouble... try running forge, then open the deck editor and close it again. It will start complaining it can't find a certain booster deck.
Anyway, when deleting all subdirectories in the res/deck directory, things are fine again. But they should probably be deleted from the SVN as well.
