I'm a big fan of Magic and I'm a fairly good programmer too.
So how can I help in the best way?

Lots of ways, check out the request or card request thread, or perhaps even the bug thread :)

We are glad to meet you. :)

I guess that the first step would be to get Eclipse, Subclipse and Subversion installed on your computer. Dennis B. has the authority to give you commit status to the SVN. Granted, it can be a challenge to get this initially set up. And there has been a number of commits made to the project in recent months.

Many of the commits center around bug-fixing and clean-ups of the code base. The frequency of commits will slow down as there are fewer bugs now and we are having good success in writing keywords and converting cards from card objects to implemented via keywords in the cards.txt file.

A good place for someone new to get started, hmm … Dennis B recently gave us the code for X cost sorceries/instants and for Multikicker. Several cards were coded and they can be found at the end of the CardFactory.java file. They can be used as examples as there are still X cost/Multikicker cards that have not yet been coded.

There are other areas where a person could get busy and your own interests, talents and inclinations will help guide you. 8)
