Next beta, 2011 second release

Postby Chris H. » 25 Jan 2011, 02:16

The change file for the current SVN submissions is starting to get fairly long, so I figure that we should release another beta this upcoming weekend.

It looks like the power outage in my neighborhood is fixed. If someone does a last update to the set info I will use that revision for our next release unless someone can come up with a reason for holding off on this beta release.

Mandatory triggered abilities are not mandatory as of right now, but I'm working on it. Not sure it's worth holding up on a release for it,though.
So now you're
Screaming for the blood of the cookie monster
Evil puppet demon of obesity
Time to change the tune of his fearful ballad
C is for "Lettuce," that's good enough for me

5853 sounds good to me. Just state that triggers while mostly working still has a bit to be fully functional.

Thank you. I will try to get the beta up tonight or tomorrow. Now that the power is back on I need to catch up on a few things.

I'll bet. I'm in New Mexico right now, but I'll be back up in snow country in a couple days.

Does the SetInfo script not work for you? Just curious. It didn't used to work on a Mac, but I fixed that.

I do not have a high speed internet connection. I have a slow speed dial up through my local computer user group. I may well be the only person in the group that still makes use of dial up.

The problem with the scripts was that it would not wait long enough for the info to be received. I tried running Sol's original script and it failed to update all of the cards, a few but not all. :(

Don't feel bad. I only have a high speed connection at the junior college and nothing at home. So yes it is fast but I have to put everything on a usb drive.

Thank heavens for 2 gig usb drives for only $4. Back in 2000 I used to slog around 10 MB files on a stack of floppies and darn it if a floppy occasionally went bad. Floppies were horrible because when you were writing to it, you couldn't tell it was bad, only when you read from it. Ooh the days of olde computing. And yes I had a Commodore 64 with a tape drive but thankfully I didn't learn programming on it.

You should, it's great fun. :D I should still have a BASIC tape lying around somewhere here...

Oh wait, there's a topic here too. Alright, if it's explicitly stated that triggered abilities can be iffy, I'm good. :)

I learned how to program FORTRAN using punchcards. Pity anyone who dropped their stack of cards on the floor.

Oh, the topic. It is getting harder and harder for me to find bugs which means that Forge keeps getting better and better! =D> So many cards... so little time!!!

This brings back memories. Punchcards and BASIC, COBOL, FORTRAN for business, PASCAL. And the JCL that was needed to get the whole mess to run. The student's mainframe used an OS named MUSIC and ... ugh.

I used my iPod as a usb drive at the local Apple store to get a copy of the latest OS upgrade. Now they refuse to do so saying it is not supported. They want to burn a DVD instead. I wonder how much they will charge me?

Yes, those 5 1/4" floppies were a nightmare. :D
