Yeah, not quite sure where I stand since I'm new to the community. Took that line out since I felt "who am I to tell you guys what to do". But if you don't mind, then I'll jump in. Thanks for the help!
i'm especially interested in sections or steps that are missing. if you want to overhaul a large section, please open a discussion in the developer's corner first.

Doublestrike wrote:BTW is there an API for the flavor of BBCode markup used in CCGH?
API? do you mean a manual on how to format text using mediawiki syntax?

Doublestrike wrote:Yes, there is: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Editing
good find. i also like http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Formatting especially.

A number of people have added to the forge wiki over the last year and it has really grown. There are still a few areas that are unfinished. The How to Get Started Developing and the Forge API SVars sections are a couple of good candidates.

This is the link to the forge wiki intro page:

and this is the link to the forge wiki How to Get Started Developing page:

Merciless editing has taken place. Did a big edit with all requested info and more (except for Team Perspective since current experience insufficient to describe). Big changes on the structure of the document, but the content remained unchanged (you'll recognize all of it).

Git-specific content commented at bottom. Followed previous styling. Added: SVN directions, Subclipse directions, user skill level pathways, helpful links, build instructions, quick build directions, portability options, installation testing methods, inter-wiki hyperlinks, etc.

Posting the previous document below, for quick revert if needed. Hopefully the new structure allows new users to find what they're looking for quickly, and gives experienced users a framework to add/remove content as needed.

Future goals: Explore and document testing system for users who want to act as testers. Any suggestions on where to start?

I like the Project Overview section. I had thought for a while that the Scripting API link should be higher up in the docs, but couldn't think of a way to fit it in there with how the old docs were structured.

Hi. I'm back home after a three week vacation and like to join the SVN party. Can you give me commit status Chris?
