Oblivion ring on a token
by Jaedayr » 27 Oct 2011, 20:46
AI cast Oblivion Ring on my hound pet token. The next turn I cast Demystify on the ring and it went to the graveyard, still remembering my pet. The pet did not return to the battlefield. Should it have returned? I haven't opened this in bug tracker yet in case it is not a problem.

It shouldn't return, since it disapppears as soon as it's outside the battlefield, but I'm not sure it should be remembered at all.
So now you're
Screaming for the blood of the cookie monster
Evil puppet demon of obesity
Time to change the tune of his fearful ballad
C is for "Lettuce," that's good enough for me

Since Oblivion Ring says "Exiled Card" it probably shouldn't remember tokens to begin with.Hellfish wrote:It shouldn't return, since it disapppears as soon as it's outside the battlefield, but I'm not sure it should be remembered at all.

I think there may be an issue with oblivion ring. I was messing around yesterday with a deck that used it. I used oblivion ring to remove some creatures the AI had on the board. The AI used ratchet bomb to remove oblivion ring but the creature didn't return to the battlefield. I was going to test it further before I put in a Mantis report.
So many cards, so little time

So if you Oblivion Ring a token, does the ring stay on the battlefield targeting nothing, or does it go directly to the graveyard?friarsol wrote:Since Oblivion Ring says "Exiled Card" it probably shouldn't remember tokens to begin with.Hellfish wrote:It shouldn't return, since it disapppears as soon as it's outside the battlefield, but I'm not sure it should be remembered at all.

Why would it goto the graveyard? It ETB, Exiles a token, it wouldn't remember it, and when it leaves the battlefield tries to return anything it remembers (which is nothing).Jaedayr wrote:So if you Oblivion Ring a token, does the ring stay on the battlefield targeting nothing, or does it go directly to the graveyard?
