Forest Card Art

Postby Ulzat » 15 Jul 2009, 20:33

In the process of trying to get my original MtG re-installed and working on an XP computer I ran across this site. Wow. Thank you all who have contributed to this amazing project!

Now, my question: I've found that very rarely one of my forests will display without art. I've created a deck of only forests and can duplicate the issue, but I can't tell if I'm missing one of the picture files or if it's some other issue. How would I go about figuring that out?

(I have 91, 91A...91T)

Best regards!

I believe there is a missing alternate art for Forests. IIRC Daze sometimes had this problem too, and maybe Islands?

EDIT: Just experienced the same thing with Memory Lapse.

Is there any way to figure out which ID is missing? I'd rather duplicate one of the existing files into the "empty" spot than have the jarrying grey box appear in the otherwise beautiful new playfield. lol

Thanks for the response.

Sorry, not sure how to determine that, but if you work it out, please post it here! :)

If you open Manalink.cvs with Skymagic Editor or Microsoft Excel (or any other table editor but it will be a bit buggy), you can see the details of each cards.

One column is dedicated to the number of alternatives cards possibles and for Forest with ID 0091 the number of alternative cards is set to 23 with the latest ML version (so up to 0091V.JPG and not 0091W.JPG because 0091.JPG also count).
In my version I am up to 0091T.JPG but it's because I am not up to date with the graphics update.

Dunno what happen if you go through Z lol

Perfect! That was exactly what I needed to know.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that I have the newest art files, unless someone else can confirm that they already had 0091U.JPG & 0091V.JPG. I just copied my two favorite pictures into those two "holes" and no longer have the grey box. Thanks all who responded!

One of the Plains (or maybe more than one) also has missing art.

We have memory lapse? I don't remember that card being coded :p Hmm... might have to put it to use somewhere. Probably I just used Remand instead, I guess.

Even with the latest update there are some graphics files missing, but I think maltusalem is working on it

I'll confirm it myself. With all the different "installation" threads and download file links, installation can be a bit confusing. However, after sorting through, I've found that the files in this thread actually do contain the 0091U & V jpgs. After a quick scroll through the deck editor and finding the graphic for Hatred I think I'm really up to date now. Lol. Hope this information helps someone else.
