Question: restricted and banned in type 1.5?

Hello. I have a question. Are there still restricted cards in type 1.5? Since I'm slowly updating my decks with new Jatill's cards, I've taken a look to WotC list to see what I could or could not add, and it looks like that they wished to make things simpler in 1.5, just making any previously restricted card as banned.

Also, as you can see, I've been surprised because, except Ante cards and Shahrazad, I've no longer found the following ones neither as banned or restricted: Mind Twist, Braingeyser, Stroke of Genius, Berserk, Fork, Mishra's Workshop, Zuran Orb, Land Tax, Recall, Ivory Tower, Candelabra of Tawnos, Black Vise, Mirror Universe, Tormod's Crypt or Feldon's Cane.
Presonally, I don't agree except for few ones: even if some of those cards alone may not be so dangerous, if joint into combos I still can see many good reasons to keep all of them restricted. Again 4 Mind Twist, 4 Berserk or 4 Black Vise?

Here too, I see the missing of some cards that I remember restricted in ype 1.5 too or banned: Mishra's Workshop, Zuran Orb, Land Tax, Feldon's Cane, Tormod's Crypt or Candelabra of Tawnos. Also, Tolarian Academy banned! I've tried the power of a Mishra's Workshop in an artifact deck with Triskelion, Su-Chi and other very good creatures and it was really powerful. Or I can imagine the combos with Zuran's Orb and Land tax in a domain deck with Crucible Words. This doesn't look so fair for me!

At the end of the trip, may I suggest - if we'll ever be able to edit the banned & restricted list here too - to keep as restricted any card that has been so at least once? The reasons are that our environment is very different and somehow more stable than the pen & paper game and, so, the effect of the power creep cards in my humble opinion is more radical than the "true" game.
This, of course, in theory because - as long as none of us may play on-line - each of us is able to create his/her custom rules at will

What a huge answer! I've takent he list from WotC website too and yes, I've been surprised by the total absence of restricted cards in type 1.5, now all banned, and for the un-restriction of previously restricted cards. Environment must have changed really a lot of those powerful cards now can be used freely! Hope NOT to see the same in pur PC game because the environment here is much more limited.

They stopped restricting cards in any format except vintage since the late 90s. The only reason vintage allows restrictions is so cards like Black Lotus have a format they are legal in.

Don't draw your thinking of the past to the present magic has metamorphosed a lot since the 90s lol.

I feel like a granpa, here! In my times, magic was not like that, lol! But really... May I at least argue that I don't agree with some choices?

Plenty argue with some choices a ton of people were extremely unhappy when Brainstorm was restricted in T1. But to see a method to the madness of why card xyz is restricted or banned you have to follow the format extremely close.

That means looking at every new deck that makes a tournament splash noticing which cards see too much play and therefore might get restricted in T1. etc..

Just basing it off wow that card is too good in my opinion it should be banned or restricted or whatever is a bit off.

Of course: my reasoning is not that easy, in fact. Right because I'm a senior player, I've also experimented several tournments where some cards were once banned and restricted and I remembe how the game was in both occasions. Some became "staple" cards even in decks that did not hold their color, as Mind Twist and Demonic Tutor in almost every deck... I've also tried to play some unrestricted game here on our PC with some once-restricted cards as Ivory Tower and results are devasting for opponents... yes, at the very end it is always someone's opinion, usually from somebody that is more competent and expert, but I think that in the name of good sense, some cards should still be restricted in our custom environment.
