so close to being able to play!
by sopcich04 » 09 Dec 2009, 21:08
I downloaded Mok2.0 part1&2, CardArtNew_092309, and 20091104.zip
-i extracted both Mok's to a folder and the game works fine as is. I can make a deck and play with the deck.
-then i took the CardArtNew_092309 file and added it to CardArtNew, replaced all the files, things were good to go...i think(cards dont show up in Mok yet)
-Now this is where things fall apart. Not sure if i am doing this right. In the .zip file, i took cards.dat and manalink.csv from 'best of' and put it into the Mok main folder(now all the cards are in deck builder). I left the magic.exe because it seems to be a bogus file.
--Here is the problem, I can make a deck but when i use it, no cards show up! BUT i can use an old deck, not sure what im doing wrong. Please help!!!
Oh btw, i am running Vista and i am getting 7 this week.

You need to extract that entire zip file into your magic directory. Also, there is a newer version:
For the new cards and features, download and unpack http://rapidshare.com/files/309372310/20091119.zip (make sure to extract the folder with Magic.exe in it, and not the stuff before that)

Wow thanks for the quick reply! If that doesn't work then I will provide screen shots. Let's hope I don't. This forum is great

ok im getting confused. now when i go into the zip i click on magic.exe(circled) and extract it to where it is pointed. nothing happens, it just makes a copy of the zip file. so what i did was take every file out of the newly unziped file and tossed it into Program. nothing....any suggestions?

Not exactly sure, but you want to copy all the files from the zip (the right window in your picture) and paste them in Program. It should ask you if you want to overwrite the old files.

Would be better to extract somewhere else then cut/move all the files from the archive(and not just copying the folder "zips" which may lead to many directory problems depending on the software/unzip options you use)) to the original magic folder.
If you see a folder named "zips" in your magic folder you just failed the update.
Personally I use winrar, I open the archive then dive from the file folder until I reach the area where magic.exe is located, select all file and drag'n drop into my magic folder directory which is c:/Program Files/Magic, then confirm the override.
