Re: Manalink 3.0 Installation

Yep, I just confirmed your confirmation using a WinXP VMwareApp ('cause the file would seem to be omnipresent on my system). Oddly enough, that file is missing by design... and has been missing from the Full Download since the 20120715 release. It was moved to the Shandalar 2012 Install (along with several other .DLLs) because I believed it was no longer needed by Manalink. Here's my explanation from the other post:
Well, it seems that I'm wrong. In my zeal to remove all unnecessary files from the Full Download, I'd also removed the MagSnd.dll file... which apparently is indeed necessary. My guess is that Win7 somehow found the file when I clicked the executable, but not when I called it from the CommandLine. Since I omitted files by trial-and-error, I thought it was not needed.

Note to self:
Always call from the CommandLine when testing this kind of thing in the future. ^_^
Thanx to stassy for identifying the source of this issue, and to Sylphis and smith666 for pointing it out. It's already been fixed for the next release, but 'till then if you have a problem with No Sounds in Manalink, please snag the archive below and extract it to the \Manalink 3.0\Program\ folder.

The CirothUngol version should already be up to date so no need to download the 15 july patch...until M13 update :)

Download, Extract, Click on "Install_Me_First!" and check out the ReadMe.txt. The download already contains the Update Patch for the date in the archive's FileName. It's designed to be an "All-In-One" install, just click and go.

Hi Andreas:

This program (Manalink 3.0) is not affiliated with Wizards of the Coast or the DCI and it is not a substitute for Magic Online (MTGO).

If you're looking to download a program to play magic online – against other people, for DCI points – I would recommend visiting Wizard's official page.

The DCI Rankings were only applicable when playing other people via Manalink (ie. when connected to other players via modem or internet). After all, the computer is rather easy to beat and cheat against.
So yes, that is normal.

How true it is!
MTGO is a far more advanced piece of software that will allow you to actually play other people (but has no AI for solo play). Although I feel it's worth pointing out that Manalink doesn't cost a single cent (very unlike MTGO), and that WotC has a whole team of talented (and well paid) software engineers at their disposal, where as we are merely a ragtag assemblage of enthusiastic gamers and rogue programmers. Huzzah!

You do have stats, it's in the Player section under the Overall record label : it count every matches you did in duel mode (and I think it also count Gauntlet and Tournament mode)

Hi! I'm new to the forums, but ive been playing your updated version quite a bit. I have tried to make the upgrade to Manalink 3.0 - but it is saying I can't download the .rar file. It gives me the error - "The file you attempted to download is an archive that is part of a set of archives. MediaFire does not support unlimited downloads of split archives and the limit for this file has been reached. MediaFire understands the need for users to transfer very large or split archives, up to 10GB per file, and we offer this service starting at $1.50 per month."

Is there anything I can do to remedy this or do I just have to wait until it refreshes? I would be psyched to play Sealed with all the new cards. Let me know! :D

Thanks.
