Automatic loose on startup
by hulkster » 19 Aug 2009, 02:16
Hi
I downloaded the whole thing today and after seeing how many new cards have been added i decided to try some decks available on this forums and some others. The thing is that most of the decks works great but there are some that when i use them i loose immediately after the coin toss. I have searched the forum for the answer but the closest thing was one guy asking for help to validate deck whether it contains illegal cards. If it is the cause of the problem can someone post a list of all illegal cards so i could edit the decks?

Depend on how you start up Manalink.
Currently 2 ways :
- Magic.exe, which is the old fashioned style, no legality deck check
- Launcher.exe, which is the new style, with deck legality check and new modes
If you use Magic.exe and still get a legality check, make sure you have this parameters in your config.txt file which is located in your root Magic folder :

Well, it's better to use the Launcher because it won't modify permanently some parameters such as config.txt. If you have a non valid deck at the game over window it should show the non valid one (usually more than one of a specific card).
After trying myself it seems to be after the last update it won't show anymore, guess you can post it in the Bug thread.

Did any update fix this? Any custom deck I make loses automatically, only the decks that come with the game work, and most ofthose are terrible

could you please post one of the decks that aren“t working in here ?
it is likly that you are using more than 1 copy of restricted cards.
either adjust your deck to a legal format or turn off Decklegality.
->
open your config.txt (in your gamefolder -> C:\Magic)
set:

If its the challenge mode it doesn't matter what you turn off it will still check legality and give you automatic loss.
If you want to play regular mode like say normal MTG gauntlet then you can have anything you want in deck.
20 copies of black lotus go for it!
