Guide: How to use the Deckbuilder

note: This text was made for new users that aren´t used to the deckbuilder yet. And i bet a few features are even unkown to people who played this for months already!

Deckbuilder Crashes

This usually happens after you´ve clicked anywhere outside of the deckbuilder (or switched between tabs -> ALT+TAB for example). The Deckbuilder will freeze then.
(would make screenshots , but i only got a german windows)
You can unfreeze by doing this:
1.press "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" (you open the TASK-Manager with this)
2.click on "Process" (a list of things should appear there , NAME / Username/CPU/RAM)
3.click on "Name" (to sort by name)
4.mark "drwatson" and end the task with the button below the list
5.the deckbuilder should unfreeze now , if not there is prolly a 2nd "drwatson" in the list.

Filtered Cards


These are the cards displayed at the bottom of the screen after filters got applied.Learn more about Filtering below.

browsing through the Filtered Cards

You can either use the mouse to scroll or use the "arrow keys".
One thing most people don´t know is that you can just enter a cards name and the deckbuilder will directly jump to the card.Try it yourself - just enter "a" "j" "a" and the filtered cards will jump to the cards that start with "aja" -> like ajani.
The Deckbuilder will even recognize the "SPACE" key.

Moving cards to your deck

There are several ways to do this.
1.drag and drop a card
2.Doubleclick a card to move it to the deck.
3.A better way to do this is hold "SHIFT" while doubleclicking - a prompt will ask you how many cards you want to move inside the deck.



Filtering

Edition Filter:


Here you can filter out by sets.

Other / Basic / Astral / Arabian Nights / Antiquities / Legends / The Dark

Hover the mouse over any button and wait : will show you a description of the button.
Leftclick: a button to hide/display the chosen expansion.
Rightclick: any Button for further options.Please rightclick the "Basic" button for further options.

Color Filter:


Here you filter out by color.

White / Blue / Black / Red / Green / Multicolor (+Hybrid Cards) / Land / Artifact Cards

Hover the mouse over any button and wait : will show you a description of the button.
Leftclick: a button to hide/display the chosen color/s.
Rightclick: you can choose to de/activate all buttons (not recommented).

Cardtype Filter:


Here you filter out by cardtype.

Creatures (+subtype) / Enchantments / Instants / Intterupts (manasources) / Sorcery

Hover the mouse over any button and wait : will show you a description of the button.
Leftclick: a button to hide/display the chosen cardtype.
Rightclick: further filtering options. If you are looking for a specific Creature type you can right click the "Creatures" button and chose to filter by Creature types !
Example:

This will filter our all creatures that do NOT have the Vampire subtype

Attribute Filter:


Here you filter out by attributes.

Castingcost (equal to X , higher than X ,lower than X) / Creature Power / Creature Toughness / Ability / Rarity

Hover the mouse over any button and wait : will show you a description of the button.
Leftclick: a button to hide/display with the chosen Attributes.
Rightclick: further filtering options.I reccoment to use the "filter by castingcost" feature.
To me it happens quite a lot that i forget the name of a card but remember the color/cardtype/ casting cost.With this its a lot easier to narrow down the list of the wanted card.


Other Features

Options

(rightclick anywhere in the area where your deck is supposed to be)



New Deck / Load Deck / Save Deck - does what it says
Consolidate duplicate Cards - If unchecked every copy of a card will be displayed , if not a number on the cards indicates how many you have got inside your deck.
Clear Deck - This will remove ALL cards from your deck , be careful with this
Sort Deck - will reorganize the order the cards are displayed
Minimize - DO NOT USE THIS ! the deckbuilder is very likly to crash when you click anywhere outside of the deckbuilders screen
Music - de/activate background music
Sound Effects - de/activates background sounds
Exit Deckbuilder - see "Exit"

Stats


leftclicking this leads to :


Deckname / Type / Stats .
This will show you if the deck is legal in any formats and also is also showing you the currently used cardslots (how many cards you have used including copies of them).
Just make sure with this that you´ve reached the minimum decksize (40 or 60)

Deckinfo


leftclicking this leads to :


Title - Deckname (must be filled out before saving)
Description - will show up next to the deck in "( )"
Name / Email - Author of the Deck + Email Adress
Date - when the deck was created
Comments - you won´t see this anywhere - just at the Deckbuilder.

Exit



This will lead you back to the mainscreen. If you haven´t already saved your deck by now you will get asked to do so.
