Collectible Card Game Headquarters

Hi. Just upgraded to Windows 10. My manalink worked the last i played it a couple days ago, but refuses to today. I've tried changing the compatibility mode, but i'll i get is the progress circle for a few moments and then nothing.

I was wondering if it's me, or if the game won't run in 10 until it gets an update

I have Magic on 2 PC's, both with Windows 10. The game runs fine on one of them and the other is doing the same thing that Xaxtan is experiencing.

I just tried to open the game on Windows 10 and it would simply not start. I am not entirely sure what the problem is, but if anyone finds out, some hints would be appreciated.

Try to put manalink3.0 in white list = allow to run, in windows Firewall and then antivirus program.

Still no luck after altering the firewall, assuming I did it correctly.

It was already in my antivirus list. Every time I patched, it complained about untrusted files and wanted to remove them.

After playing around a bit, I did discover I can get into the decks.exe file, so I can create decks, I just can't play any. None of the other .exe files seem to work atm. Magic.exe, Manalink.exe and Shandalar.exe do nothing but give the progress wheel and then nothing. deckeditor.exe does open a shell window, but nothing else.

I installed over the weekend. I'm getting the loading circle for a few seconds and then nothing on the manalink exe. Shandalar, however, fires right up.

I'm wondering if there is some simple thing booting with windows that is preventing the main exe from launching.

Can the user who has two machines with WIN10 post screenshots of the startup section in MSCONFIG from both pc's?

Have you tried booting in Safe Mode to see if it'll run?

Just tried safe mode with all the compatibility modes... still nothing

I can also confirm that the game does not work on a fresh install of Windows 10. For the hell of it, I tried running really old versions (like v1.3.2 and a build from late 2009) and those versions run flawlessly under Windows 10.

Can you please name which base version did you use for manalink3.0 installation? and was it updated with latest March 2015-fate reforged patch?

Well, I tried several versions I had saved:

Manalink 1.3.2 (Works)
Manalink from September 2009 (Works)
Manalink Journey into Nyx from May 2014 (Didn't work)
And the most recent Manalink from CirothUngol's Google Drive (Didn't work).

Like others in this thread, I tried various compatibility settings and there has been no change with the game not loading when clicked on.

Well, I just discovered that the game works perfectly on my Surface with Windows 10. It also runs on my office PC, a Dell. But it will not start on my home gaming PC, which is a very fast machine that runs all graphics at their highest settings. There is nothing in my startups that I can see that could affect the loading of Magic. The program ran perfectly on Windows 7 on all of my computers. I have purposely not upgraded to Windows 10 on my laptop because the game runs fine in Windows 7. This is very frustrating.

I've noticed if I just keep clicking on "Play_Manalink.cmd", the game will eventually launch.

That worked for me. Tested a bit and figured out that Commander format doesn't work.

on windows 10 for me when I run Magic.exe it instead launches Manalink.exe, I'm at a loss for what I should do, I found this thread while searching for my issue hoping it was resolved for some one else already, If it helps the version I use is ozks archive updated up to Mai 2014 "Journey into Nyx" I've also continued updating to the most recent patches.
