Card Lists and a few questions

Is there anywhere I can find a listing of all the cards in each of the different card sets? By set, I mean the different cards available when using switcher.exe. I am curious because I think that I might prefer using an alternate program to edit and create decks then convert them myself into the ManaLink format. A list with the id numbers would be ideal I suppose.

Also, I looked through the forums but didn't find an answer to some other problems I have had. First, when I have more than 8 cards in my hand, I can only see 8 because there just isn't enough room in the window. Is there something I am missing here, or is it just a limitation of the game? Also, certain cards have more text on them than is room for in the viewable area. I have a feeling that I might just have to continue looking up unfamiliar cards elsewhere, but I thought I'd try here and see if there was any alternative.

I apologize in advance if these questions have been posed before. Thanks!

manalink.csv has all the cards listed. there are two versions, one for bestof version and one for zendikar version. you can find them in their respective directories in c:\magicdirectory\versions

in order to see it in a form not all jumbled up, i use openoffice (you can download it for free at openoffice.org). openoffice will automatically import it into a viewable format. just use "semicolon" in the separator options under "separated by" and it will come out in a neat spreadsheet. from there, if you wish to view by expansion set, first select everything except for the first row (row 1), then go to data -> sort by, then in the first box, choose column E.

unfortunately, due to restrictions, cards from a lot of different sets are all grouped under "astral" (0200h) so this won't be exactly what you want, but there is nothing closer short of looking at the cards one by one in the deckbuilder.

also, a good database for all paper cards is magiccards.info
