Alternative Deckbuilder skin

Postby Salbei » 27 Dec 2009, 03:34

Now that you can mod the deckbuilder here is my first attempt :

Image

there you go - version 1.0:
http://salbei.spacequadrat.de/magic/Dbart.rar (107 kb)

installation:
1.unzip
2.make a backup of your Dbart folder (in case you want to use this one)
3.copy the unzipped Dbart folder into your magic folder (so it will ask you to overwrite files)
-> c:\magic\Dbart

used most of maths "new" buttons and just toyed around with the coloring.
been lazy with the backgrounds , might change em in the future.
would love to change the background behind the cards in the deck with ONE picture - but it won´t work like that (its actually 5 pictures in a pattern ... pain in the ass to make something decent with that).leaving it black till i figure something out.

hope you like it.

if you can figure out how to change the pattern of five pics into one pic for the deck background, that would be great I already have something ready. also if you can figure out how to set the blue background behind the card to black
and the small tile -> one image great as well.

I like the idea of shading the buttons, but why wouldn't the lands and artifacts be grouped with the other types of cards, instead of with the colors?

Also, have either of you tried adding words to the filter buttons? I still don't know what represents what without hovering over them.

happy with this or want me to re-do it ?

I like it allot Salbei! 8)

Could you pick a nice image that would tile across the background for now until we come up with an idea?

i really tried it . but you are going to need a "pattern" for this. like i said its 5 images scattered across everything that is black right now.

i´ve tried a couple patterns but they all don´t look good enough so far.well i´ll keep trying.

a major problem is that i didn´t find out how to change the area around the big card (on the left , with the gray/blue frame around the card. looks like shit if i can´t change it.

figured out dektile1 + dektile44 don´t do anything.

I don't know if these will help or if you can even use them, but I post them here to see if you can. Temporary solution, for now if you can use them!

statbak , dektile1 + dektile44 don´t do anything from what i´ve seen from my "tests" . wonder what they are in for . totally changed them to bright colors so i could find out what they are good for but couldn´t see where they are used.

not 100% happy with it but it was the best attempt so far :

like i said i can´t change the color around that big card. is the color of the deckbackground alright or should i change it to something else ?

Nice improvements! Like you said, the words art a little tough to read due to the size, but they are better than nothing. Maybe for the colors nothing would be OK, since those are pretty obvious :) The textured blue background is easy on the eyes, too.
