Hey
i´m playing the challenge mode at manalink2 and everything is allright ;-)
but i have a problem.
If i make my own decks,...i lose the game automatic...i read this

"All challenge decks must be either Vintage or Legacy legal. Some challenges have additional deck building requirements, as described below. If your challenge auto-loses you at the beginning of the game, it is because your deck is illegal."

My English isn´t very good...could somebody say me, what Vintage and Legacy means?
I know the problem is, that my own decks are illegal...but why?

Thanks for answers

best regards

Andy

To be short that mean some cards in your deck are forbidden to play in Challenge card, or are restricted to 3,2 or 1 per deck only such as Timetwister, Ancestral Recall etc...though it doesn't mean you can't have more during the game (by using Burning Wish or Cunning Wish or Ring of Ma'rûf)

Hello.
I tried to play challenge, I like it, but my MTG crash sometimes, so I can't play it anymore.

It could be better if all cards are unlocked for regular play.
And challenges would be good for a "shandalar" like game. A new shandalar mode that use MTG.

Ditto. I haven't been able to complete a single challenge even after about 40 attempts because ML keeps keep either crashing or freezing. So an alternate way to gain access to those cards would be awesome, especially since some of them are pretty important for certain deck types; e.g. Cursed Scroll as source of colorless damage for Sligh/Red Deck Wins.

I said "alternate way" because I think it'd be cheap to gain these cards without having to do anything for them, even more so when you consider that a lot of people had to fight through the challenges. The option to save at the end of a match would already solve these issues.

Yeah, I think if a way could be coded such that you couldn't abuse it, it would be fine. For instance, suppose I am on round 5 of a challenge, and I lose that game, I should not be able to load again at round 5; I should have to start at 1 again, since even the most incompetent player could beat it if they could reload midchallenge after a loss, and that isn't right. But, if it crashes during round 5, it is quite reasonable to load the game again at the beginning of round 5.

There would be some issues to figure out, like detecting when the player purposely crashes the game to avoid a loss. (that, or we'd have to hope everyone is honest! :p)

Maybe allowing a Single Time Load option, that "deletes" the save game file after loading it once.

That sounds like the best option. The game crashes during round 4, for example. No problem, you reload the beginning of round 4 / end of round 3. And I think it's very unlikely that ML crashes again before you can finish round 4 and save again at the beginning of round 5.

I also don't think that a one-time-reload can be abused (much) for cheating. At best you can reload the game just one single time at the beginning of the round you were about to lose.
