Ok so I've gotten manalink 2010 working in Windows 98 (anything newer didn't work) but whenever it tries to load a card it crashes.. renaming the newcardart folder fixes the problem but all cards have no artwork obviously, even trying to open one of the card art jpgs in paint doesn't work!
Is there something I can convert all the artwork to so it can recognise them? Or do I need to find a solution for 98 to be able to view jpgs?

I know it's obscure but is there a way to edit cardartlib to make it look for pngs or whatever format w98 can read?

Is there anyone that can help changing the image format it needs? Doing this for a project, it's driving me nuts

Windows 98 could read .jpg you are probably missing some necessary library or a certain program windows 98 use for that.
There are programs that rename files I used one years ago when developing cardart but you still have to check if png for instance can be read by your system.

Yeah but the cardartlib will be looking for jpgs specifically I'm guessing? So renaming wouldn't be enough? It works fine when running the Windows 98 build through dosbox daum but it won't load the cardart using the same build through regular dosbox so I'm lost, but regular dosbox is my only option

You are right it doesn't load pngs.

I'll try adding a jpg library, thanks for that idea!

No luck, must just be dosbox daum is better than the retroarch svn core
