MagicCustom.exe not running
by draconite » 05 Dec 2010, 11:04
So, I got New Deck Editor working. It turns out that I put the folder as "CardArtCust" instead of "CardArtCus".
I still can't get MagicCustom.exe to run, though.

Are you using the New Deck Editor from the pinned thread ? viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2806
Did you follow all the steps from the install walkthrough from the wiki?

I did, minus the "restart your computer" part, because I have never *really* needed to do that on, well, anything that I've ever installed.
Although, I don't think the problem is with My2000, something is wrong with MagicCustom.exe.
Also, I have two patches that I got from two different pages on this site: 20101001.zip and Manalink210.rar. Which do I apply first?

You should refer from the wiki which is nearly up to date to the current Manalink development :
http://www.slightlymagic.net/wiki/Installation
Once you are done you can update to the latest update as of today which is Manalink update Dec 6 2010
And then you can try the new deckeditor update from the wiki.

What order do I apply the patches in? Also, do I run the patch.exe? I dragged the zipped folder into the magic folder, then ran the patch.exe.
The directions on the wiki are really vague as to what to do.

Well, it's not that "vague", just follow the orders exactly from the 1st line of the top to the last line of the bottom :p
Install Mok pack, then install latest update pack then install non card art pack then install card art for constructed and limited pack then install the DeckEditor from the DeckEditor wiki :

So, it's clearly something wrong with the things I'm getting with Updated Deck Editor. Everything that I got from the main page works fine, I just can't run MagicCustom.exe for some reason, and I can't change my Custom cards.
