Lifelink ability?

Reading the text in the new cards, I've seen that some creatures that clearly have the lifelink ability but such name does not figure anymore. Instead, there is the full ability explanation, so I would like to know if Lifelink ability has been declared as "discontinued" from WotC, more or less as Fear (partially replaced by Intimidate).
