missing card text

I recently installed the manalink 2.0, when I did it took away all the text on the cards. Is there a patch I am missing? Did I install it wrong. Someone please help. I really like the game and want to play my friends online. HELP! LOL!

Couple things you have to do.
1.If you haven´t already apply the Compatibility Tool patch -> Tutorial + Links
2.Disable Visual Themes
->
Create a shortcut to your magic.exe (c:\Magic\magic.exe). rightclick ->create shortcut->desktop
Disable Visual Themes (rightclick the shortcut to magic ->properties->compatibility->check "deactivate visual themes".
Start the game with the shortcut on your desktop/anywhere.
3.Reboot

That should fix it.

BTW:
Multiplayer is NOT recommended with the latest patches (very unstable!).

Thanks for this informative thread on fixing this particular problem. Yep, it did the trick for me. However, there is only one thing wrong.

The link for the Microsoft Compatibility Tool leads to the newest version(5.6) and it has a compatibility problem. I did look up the 5.5 again and found another link.

As far as i know that "thing" is included within a service pack. So as long as your Computer is up-to-date (as it should be anyway) this issue should not occur.
