Can't start a Duel - missing part of window
by elricod » 18 Mar 2011, 02:05
Installed Manalink 2.0 from the RAR
I can run the deck editor and shandalar
When I go to duel, I get the four options at the top, but the bottom where I select my deck and my opponent's deck, there is nothing (see image)
Has anyone run across this before? I'm running Windows XP SP3.

Looks like your version is way out of date.(The Menu got changed last year around March).
Would be easiest to install from scratch instead of manually patching it up to date.
The latest version should look like this:
Please reinstall using the WIKI or the SCV version (both @ signature).

I installed using the Wiki. However, I hadn't applied the patch. I unzipped it and put it in the same directory as Manalink 2.0, and ran patch.exe. I chose to patch all versions.
After doing so, launching magic.exe still gives me the same menu. Should it then look like your image above?
Unfortunately, the link to the User Guide in the Wiki points to http://www.slightlymagic.net/wiki/Insta ... ser_Manual which doesn't contain a manual that I can find.

The one on the very top labeled as "Installation (includes downloads) ". Not sure how you could miss it.
Or you might want to try the SCV. Should be very easy to "install".

Just to clarify - I found the RAR, installed that. I downloaded the patch, unzipped it into the same directory. When the page mentions "manual", I assumed it would be something more than a few lines of instruction. Which part are you referring to, Salbei?

Try the SCV if you can´t get the WIKI route to work.

Download Main Folder
Download Artwork
Download Patch
Put everything together and play. Can´t have it much easier than that.

SCV worked, WIKI version didn't. Thanks, Salbei.
