Thanks, i will reboot as soon as I can.
I don't have anti-virus, and manalink 2 and shandalar already works on this computer (install folder in "c:\program files\magicTG").
I will check for virus perphaps, there is a little possibility i have jeefoo, but i don't think because manalink 2 work very well.

Hey !
Now it work perfectly.
The reason of the error was a old virus (jeefo).
I've eradicated it, and all is fine now.
I've installed the game on another computer : just extract and click on "magic.exe", and it work at the first time.
I apologize, you told the truth about this very simple installation. Many greatfull for you!

Hi, a newbie here. I discovered Manalink a few months ago and have been playing without trouble (Vista Home machine). Then I discovered 3.0 and have been trying to install it, but nothing works. No matter what I do (visual theme's disabled and DEP settings changed for all), patching old install, trying CirothUngol's version, trying Gargaroz's version, it always results in an install that can run, but that does not display any card text and Duel's phase progression button is messed up. Anyone have any idea what I'm missing? Any help would be much appreciated.

I ever had this bug of missing text.BAgate wrote:Hi, a newbie here. I discovered Manalink a few months ago and have been playing without trouble (Vista Home machine). If I remember well, I have installed CirothUngol's version, then copy Gargaroz's version on it (replace some files).
But now, I have re-installed CirothUngol's version only because I don't want some conflicts, and it work.
Did you click on the file with the .reg extension too ?
It add manalink 3.0 in registry, maybe it's that.

I had rebooted (multiple times) but never tried the registry file (I don't like to clutter the registry and nothing in there looked important). But I gave it a shot and it seems to have worked (go figure). Thanks to everyone for their quick replies!

Do I just download the manalink 3.0 and install? I already have a manalink 2.0 installed with some update and also the csv update. Or do I need a "fresh" install? If so how do I keep my save file or my unlocked cards from the challenges?

aberwyn> I suggest you start of with a new install, the easiest one so far is the CirothUngol version which is at the very top of this thread, then go to the Patch section and update it with the patch and the card art files.
giantslug420> Well, the last thing I can see is either your antivirus is blocking magic.exe or you have a virus in your computer preventing the game to load...
Edit: oops forgot about how to save your Challenge progress question, just copy over your Faces folder, for savegame just copy your Savegame folder or any file with the extension *.1EG or *.1EM or *.1ET

Won't work for me. Can't open any .exe in that folder. I used CirothUngol's version, with the two latest patches, C++ update, .dll file and still error. I am using WXP but Manalink 2.0 is working fine. Both are in the same directory but separate folders. Any help?

What happens when you try to run the Magic.exe executable? Does it give an error, or do nothing? If it won't run after unzipping it, try moving it to a different drive\location. I've re-downloaded and tested that archive on WinXPsp3 and Win7sp1 with no problems. Can't open any .exe in that folder
