Thanks. All I get is this error : GDI+ Window Error. The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application.

I'm on XP SP3. I'll try moving to another drive and let you know. BTW, all the steps I did should be right, right?

Edit 1 : OK, I have moved to another folder in the same drive, same error. I have also moved to another different drive, no luck. I think I'm cursed.

Edit 2 : I made another copy of the original Manalink 2.0 and that can run. I tried overwrite it with 3.0 and the same error appears.

I'm getting the exact same error


Ciruth Ungol's version runs fine...

Garagoz version: unpacked to new folder, updated with latest patch. Error 0xc0000142 as above

Restart did not help

Run as admin did not help

Windows 7, 64 bit

I have a few questions.

In terms of number and type of cards, for playing duels, What are the differences between CirothUngol version and Gargaroz version? I have CirothUngol version and It works fine for me. I only extracted the folders and launched magic.exe.

If I have CirothUngol version, could I install the last patches by Gargaroz (2012)? Will I have more cards or the new ones would replace older ones?

In the end they are the same but the Gargaroz version was card image free (and a few files unnecessary for running the game).

However, he only released the 3.0 version while CirothUngol now release full version for the latest update (check his mediafire folder).

Anyway they should be both compatible for any update past 3.0 (currently the latest is Avacyn)

I feel as if I should chime in here...

The version in my MediaFire Folder is the version by Gargaroz (and others). The official update (available in the Patches section of the forum) is just that, an update. It doesn't include the complete game... that's where I come in. I take the newest update, with new CardArts (thanx Sonic!), apply it to the game and upload it to MediaFire so users can just download, extract and run.

I usually wait a week or so before uploading the latest version on MediaFire, just to see if there are any problems\corrections\v2\etc. You can apply the latest patch to the MediaFire download if you wish. I'll upload the new version soon.

Hey guys, how'r y'all doin? It's been awhile since i last visited. Pretty excited to see version 3.0 of Manalink and the new 16k plus card limit. Just want to ask though -- if i download the new version, does it already contain all the cards that were ever coded up to the date of v3.0's release, or do i still need patches for that?

The mediafire folder by the fellow poster above your post contain the latest ML3 version which is currently Avacyn.

Thanks stassy. Do you have an idea how many cards there are in the latest ML3?

I really have a lot of catching up to do since i've been away for too long, so i'm going to take it slow and settle with ML3's first release for now before i install the latest patches.

Unfortunatley I lost count because the 1st 3.0 release has fused all 1.32 cards, 2.0 pre limit, 2.0 Limited and Golden Year editions, but it should be around up to 5k coded cards, token and specials cards included.

Now I have CirothUngol version posted here with sensei_vanilla_masques_v2 and Avacyn_Machinery. I realized that the folder called CardArtManalink which before the updates sensei_vanilla_masques_v2 and Avacyn_Machinery had 6807 cards has now 7326 cards. future updates will bring us more cards? Wow, it´s like a dream coming true. I remember to play old microprose game with no more than 1000 cards. Whats the maximum of cards that will we be able to have with manalink 3.0?

Be carefull as the card images contain lot of alternatives art, like a Plains.

Currently the limit is 16000 slot, that make enough space until 2016:-)

You can suggest cards in this thread, however it's up to the devs preferences to add them or not, and it depend they are codable or not with the current ML3 engine.

A curiosity: Who did the decks in CirothUngol version? There are some decks nearly impossible to defeat. Congratulations I love it. I´m running Gargaroz version with CirtohUngol decks and Cardartmanalink from CirtohUngol as well.

Which are they? In the DeckEditor you can check the authour of the deck.
