You only need to unzip the first one, the second one gets unzipped automatically.

ok i dl'ed and isntalled the game and then addded these:

* For the new cards and features, download and unpack http://rapidshare.com/files/292060275/20091012.zip (make sure to extract the folder with Magic.exe in it, and not the stuff before that)
* For the card image art, download and unpack http://salbei.spacequadrat.de/magic/upd ... ArtNew.rar into your CartArtNew folder.
* For dual art, download and unpack the Dualart or DualartNew folder from http://rs279.rapidshare.com/files/25658 ... artNew.rar into your DualArt folder.

But when i go to construct my deck, it seems like the amount of cards available are extremely low.. and alot are missing.. am i missing something?

for example there is no goblin gernade, that is an old card, id expect it to be there, and it just seems like alot others are missing, when i try to use a deck someone post online, i search for card and its not there..

looks like you´ve messed up the patch somehow and currently "just" got moks manalink.

your deckbuilder should look like this with the latest version :

here are two links that should help you setting this up :

My deck builder does look like that (but doesnt have any of those cards listed in your screen capture)and I already got the update "20091012.zip" and unzipped it in "C:\Program Files\Magic\Microprose MTG Mok's Manalink 2.0 Version\Magic\Program" same area where magic.exe is..

So what should i do?

did you get asked to overwrite existing files or did you just copy the folder itself inside there ?

you have to copy the updated files within magic\zips\magic into your game folder(c:\magic).
when you get promted to overwrite existing files you did it right.

// problem solved (PM) , was exactly what i wrote here.

Hi, I had the original game way back when but my disks got too scratched to load anymore. I got excited when I found out about this version and all the work that has been done but I can't seem to get it to install.

I am running Vista and downloaded the Mok version part 1 and 2. I unzipped them with WinZip but I can't find a file to actually install the program. I'm not sure where I went wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Once mok's version is unzipped you don't install it, you just play. I think you run magic.exe.

viewtopic.php?f=55&t=1697 <- FAQ
should cover the "installation" and any issues.

Vista is going to cause unwanted problems though.
The game is going to crash frequently on Vista.Hope you can setup a "Virtual Mashine" or got a non-vista PC around.

Hey guys, when I download Microprose MTG Mok's Manalink 2.0 Version.part1.rar (92.77 MB)
and
Microprose MTG Mok's Manalink 2.0 Version.part2.rar (91.76 MB)

how do I open/unzip/execute or do whatever I need to do with it being a .rar file? When I click on it to open (which is my only sensible option that I can see) it tells me that "to open this file, Windows needs to know what created it" and it tells me that Windows can go online and find out who made it but when I click that it just tells me a list of programs that I can buy. The other option is to browse my computer manually but since no program on my computer made it that's pretty useless.

Assuming the fix for this is simple, any more things I would need to download for this game to work or other things that I should know?

Thanks in advance

-Sam

check the "FAQ - Topic"
viewtopic.php?f=55&t=1697

you need "winrar" or update your winzip to the latest version.

7-zip works and it's free. http://www.7-zip.org/

Salbei, please add that to the faq.

The files were opened easily with 7, but when I tried to extract them it said "Data error in 'Microprose MTG Mok's Manalink 2.0 Version\Magic\Program\CardArt\MedArt\.cat'. File is broken"

I checked FAQ and didn't see anything regarding this error.

i d/l SOTA and ran setup.exe
it asks to insert the MTG cd in to the cd rom
i clicked next and goto the next screen where it asks to insert the SOTA cd. I have d/l and installed the original MTG - i don't have cd's for either.

Now what?

Don't use SOTA, use Mok's version.
