Yup, sorry, I mistyped, but I found another missing, "Goat" token.

I've been very lucky: I've found this forumla for Excel that did the job. http://office.microsoft.com/it-it/excel-help/funzione-annulla-spazi-HP010062581.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA010221840
Sonic, sorry but with your way I could do nothing at all.
Anyway the most important thing is that now even that problem is fixed, goat and Homunculus tokens are in and we may procede in re-adding the missing cards to the csv file with gargaroz's order. Any idea about doing that?

Sorry for double posting, but I've just received a notification that "This topic has received a reply since your last visit." even if the latest answer is my one. Is there anybody that is writing and deleting messages, or changing previous ones?

Sometimes I wonder why I bother posting in this forum.0rion79 wrote:Anyway the most important thing is that now even that problem is fixed, goat and Homunculus tokens are in and we may procede in re-adding the missing cards to the csv file with gargaroz's order. Any idea about doing that?
I've repeatedly said I can restore all the old card entries and add the basic data of all the cards in ANY order you want (NO EXCEL REQUIRED!), once I finally have a list of the main cards, with no typos, and no duplicates.
So I won't bother anymore - I'll just post an example Manalink.csv when I've finished adding the basic data for the new tokens and Animated cards.

Sonic, don't be angry! It is me who's following too many projects and occasionally tend to forget things. If my latest CSV file is ok for Gargaroz, then I think you may procede. And, anyway, thansk a lot for your hints about cards names and dupliacted: very appreciated, really.

Orion, I don’t wish to be rude or sound ungrateful at the effort you’ve put in so far – but I’m now getting the feeling we’re spending more time finding solutions to maintaining your Excel Spreadsheet than actually getting a working csv produced.
The simple solution I posted to fixing the space issue in the ‘Full Name’ and ‘Name’ fields works fine on semi-colon delimited csv files – I wasn’t really concerned whether it would in Excel xls files or not. I gave up using Excel for producing csv files, precisely because you can’t use tricks like the one I posted on xls files – they’re a total pain, unless you’re working with Microsoft specific formats.
As I’ve repeatedly mentioned – I can restore all the original card entries, without having to muck about in Excel, if I can only have a list of the cards in the correct order, with no typos, and no duplicates. In fact, all I really need is the ‘Full Name’ column to be correct – the bulk of the entries can be done automatically once I’ve entered the basic data for the new tokens and ‘Animated’ cards. I will need to manually paste your current ‘Expansion’ column into the completed file though – as this will be specific to the new csv, and can’t be created from the old manalink files.
Anyway, I'm not sure what's going on with your Excel spreadsheet - but in the last one you posted I've now found typos that weren’t there before.
'Oppressive Will' is now misspelt - 'Oppressive Wil'
'Izzet Guildmage' is misspelt - 'Izzet Guildmag'
'Bound // Determined' is misspelt 'Bound // Determine'
And the ‘Bear’ token Gargaroz requested isn’t included.
To be honest, I really haven’t got the time to check the whole file, so rather than mucking about entering all corrections into your current Excel spreadsheet individually, I’ve adapted your last posted Manalink.csv - with all the typos corrected and the spaces in the 'Full Name' and 'Name' entries removed – and converted back into xls. Please check it though (I’m not infallible by any means).
I've added the requested 'Bear' token entry at slot 12159 (above the 'Beast' token) - and the 'Goat' token at 12180 (above the 'Goblin' token).
I’ve also restored the original ‘Special Card’ names with the asterisks. Whilst I can understand you personally wanting these special cards at the end of the Deck Builder if you didn’t use them in your custom version – logically, I’d assume for everyone else, most people would expect to find them at the beginning.

The sort order of the main cards seems to be OK now – no duplicates. So I’ve now got a main card order to create a beta candidate manalink.csv file from. Now, with the typos corrected and the duplicates removed, and once I’ve sorted the new tokens and Animated cards entries - even if the order changes it won’t take more than a few minutes to produce a file with any new ordering.
Please don’t take any offence to anything I’ve said – my only concerned is getting this project moving, and I do value your contributions.
All the best... Sonic

It is just great for me: Sonic! Probably that function that I have used has also cut the last letter from some of the cards' names together with spaces but really I'm glad that we have the version we need, with the right cards order. It is a relief to be able to count on such a talentet group gifted with different feats!

Sorry, for the confusion Orion79 I wrote and then deleted my post as I saw that in your last csv file you corrected the thing I was writing about.
Sonic we really look forward for the final NO MORE 2000 limit CSV.

Thanks Orion79. With any luck I'll try and post a beta canadidate csv file tomorrow.
@Aswan Jaguar
Be careful what you wish for - you're one of the people I'm counting on to check for any typos I've missed in the 'Rules Text' - and with 1200+ text entries to look over...
Anyway, back to work - times a wasting, and I've still got the tokens to finish.

Nice work on the csv, everyone

Why not simply use gatherer's versions of rules text? I'll likely extend the card text syntax to allow a bit more compatibility with new rules.Sonic wrote:Be careful what you wish for - you're one of the people I'm counting on to check for any typos I've missed in the 'Rules Text' - and with 1200+ text entries to look over...![]()

I have. All the cards will have the latest Oracle rules text. The only real problem was converting the Oracle formatting of the symbols, to that of the Manalinks. A lot of it was simply a question of 'search and replace' certain characters - but as we have no way to represent Hybrid or Phyrexian Mana symbols in the cards casting costs, some had to be manually done - and text had to be added to some of the rules entreis to show (Mok wrote:Why not simply use gatherer's versions of rules text? Having to make all these manual entries, I'm at least expecting a few boo boos on my part.
The other thing being - I haven't added the |H1, |H2, |S codes to the rules text required for the ‘Sleight’ and ‘Hack’ abilities - so the abilities won't work in the initial beta file. It shouldn't be too much of a problem to add them into the original card entries. Although, the general consensus was, the coding to get the abilities to work on the later cards was too much agro - so the codes weren't maintained in the later card entries, and there seems little point of adding them now.

Hm. What's the problem with these abilities? AFAIR Coding them was pretty straightforward, the card that used any specific color/basic land had to call another function (or simply get the value from the struct) that was getting "current" color/land type instead of the original one. I noticed some recoded cards that broke it (goblin king for example), but wasn't sure about the reasons.Sonic wrote:Although, the general consensus was, the coding to get the abilities to work on the later cards was too much agro - so the codes weren't maintained in the later card entries, and there seems little point of adding them now.

Ah, that information would filed under be 'coder consensus' - I don't understand such things as why coding abilities would be too much agro.Mok wrote:Hm. What's the problem with these abilities? Sonic, what is "agro"? Bet it's a kind of slang, but I'm not familiar with it.
