Two WAGs, since I haven't seen any performance difference:
  • It's easy to forget that the first draw of a card is always slow, since it needs to read and cache the image.
  • Might you have [FullCard]RereadConfigOnRedraw turned on? That's definitely going to be slower, since it'll reread watermarks.csv now too.
Any interest in making a conspiracy frame?

Aye, RereadConfigOnRedraw was the culprit.
I used a copy of a Duel.dat file I had to test any new frames initial setup... forgot it had the RereadConfigOnRedraw turned on. #-o

I started on a Conspiracy frame sometime back. Gave it a bit of a tweak this morning, still needs a bit of work, but will probably be OK for testing.

Anyway, here’s a full install for the current dll.
It includes an updated Manastripe.pic which allows the in-game small card title banner to be sized more like the original game’s frames in all screen resolutions.

If the Deck Builder is not launching there are files missing.

On reflection, I suppose I shouldn't really have used the phrase 'Full Install'. The archive contains a 'full set’ of frames and their respective dat files, plus a couple of other files like the watermarks and the manastripes. But it doesn't include all the required Duel Game artwork files that need to be present in the CardArt folder for the game to run properly (CardCounters.png, Poison.pic, WillUntap.pic, Target.pic, etc.)

How exactly did you install the archive?

We haven't got round to releasing a Dragons of Tarkir patch yet. But it will come.

Upcoming shinies, bits and pieces of which (especially on the smallcards) were impossible until recently.

Sonic (obviously, if you page back in the thread a little) did the heavy lifting on the conspiracy/vanguard/plane art. I could've stood to be nagged a bit more to put them in the main releases; the parts of those that couldn't display correctly before wouldn't have been enough to exclude them.

I'm holding off on his Magic-2015 frames for now. There haven't been enough double-faced planeswalkers printed to build the frames from scans, or even enough to reliably predict what the backs would look like - the rules have changed literally every set one appears in. Making the 8th-M2014-era-Modern dfc planeswalker frames was thus very labor intensive, and I'm not happy with how they turned out even so. I'm not up to doing it all again. I didn't even get proper Nyx frames done for any of the double-faced framesets before running out of steam.

Other than that, I guess miracles, split, and fuse cards, and perhaps horizontally-oriented planes, are most conspicuously absent. Maybe when I get around to programming them in Shandalar.
