I don't think any of the bands with others cards would ever be missed myself.

502.11b - An attacking creature with "bands with other quality" can form an attacking band with other creatures that have the same "bands with other quality" ability. Creatures with banding can also join this band, but creatures without banding can't. The creatures in this band don't have to have the creature type specified in the "bands with other quality" ability. Blocking this band follows the same general rules as for banding. So it's quite convoluted ability as described in the article linked above.

Unhinged even has Old Fogey, with all the most obscure abilities (not all of them, includes bands with other!).
I want to see a card called "Bands with Others".

"Bands with Others bands with other Bands with Others."

Logically, no matter how many cards are implemented, the maximum that can be USED simultaneously is 400 (someone here said that there's limit of 200 unique cards in a deck).

Therefore, one possibility might simply be to re-create cardfiles on the fly with exactly those cards that are needed for a given duel... am I wrong?

Hmm, that's true... And without taking Momir into account?

What exactly does the 2000 card limit mean? Is there a good description somewhere? I.e. is that a file size limit? Some important internal code that depends on this number?
