I like your launcher idea, but there is good and bad news related to that. Bad: I would have no idea how to incorporate an image into a DOS batch script. Good: With the UI changes I will be introducing in the next version, the launcher will be largely obsolete. I'm waiting on that version until all your art is done, though.

I'm working on the buttons, but I'm still looking for a way to replace the scimitar for the credits. If we can move the elements around, I think I'll move it on the Manalink logo. It's seems more logical.

Actually about incorporating the image. From what I've learned, it's normally the other way around. Which means that normally, when you think about the project, you do the layout, Then you do the graphic creation, then you write the code with the graphics already made. Which doesn't apply here of course since most of what we do is done in the heat and rush of inspiration. :D .... and the rest is stuck on an already existing project.

oh by the way what do you mean by UI changes ? do you intend to do another screen ? a choice screen ? You know I have several images almost ready.

By the way, Jatill, do you think you could be able to find a way to add the real hybrid cardface ? now that you begin to decipher what is relevent to images
I can do the hybrids very quickly if need be, as well as gold and colored artifacts

this is great news. something that i have been hoping to see changed since the days of Mok. good job guys. a while back i had a bmp file for every pack that we were going to use well almost at the time. would be easier if we could pinpoint this area and change it so it would look for individual pics of packs instead of 1 big bmp file. i also i have been thinking about the deck builder and how we could change it both visually and with more buttons. i had an idea to shrink the original buttons for the sets down a bit like on the second pic and add new buttons in. only thing is i think it is somewhere in the deckdll.dll file for all the deck builder related stuff as i havent found any .pic files relating to the deck builder in magic.exe.

Jatill, giving a quick read to the previous thread, it looks like that you have found a way to include your launchers (type 1, 1.5 ecc.) in the new interface: is it correct?

If so, I would like to know if you can extend this process including a secondary category to separate decks. Just to make you an example, in my Magic directory I keep my decks separated in the following folders:
    1.5 - all;
    1.5 - competitive;
    1.5 - by ability (landfall deck, first strike deck, kicker deck ec...);
    1.5 - tribe
    Highlander (of course this cannot be type 1);
    Monoset (using cards from only one expansion set at time)
    not competitive (funy decks with a bidzarre combo that are not competitive; eg: Ley Druid with Paralyze, Rocket Launcher and 4 Wild Growth on the same land).
    type 1
    Vanguard Avatar
    Planeswalkers
    Wild & 40 cards decks

This, of couse, because I think that I, as any player, want to play only fair duels and it is meaningless to play with a type 1 deck against a weaker Highlander deck or to have a prosperous bloom against a merfolk deck.

remember - this image will be using LESS colors as it is working right now.

from what i´ve seen so far the mainscreen background will just get "overlayed" with this one.prolly have to adjust the colors a bit.

exchange the current background with yours and you will see what i mean.

there is no " _ O X " at your mainscreen to minimize/maximize/close magic.

I'm not doing anything fancy with my UI updates. I'm taking away the difficulty buttons and replacing them with 'Draft, Challenge Mode, Momir Basic, and Test Mode' basically. I like your idea for deck filtering. It's probably too hard for me to figure out, but maybe next time I'm not busy I'll play around for a couple hours.

I may just cross my fingers and hope :) If it can be done, it would be one more improvement, else thanks anyway for everything, really.

th rez is not the same,(1024 x768 and the XY locations depend on that) should i shrink everything to make 800 X 600 ?

Ok, beck to 800 x 600 then :( ........ Geez that means I have to recalculate all the locations #-o

I'll keep the 1024 x 768 versions so if you find that particular property for the resolution of the screen we can use them back.
