Rules for Developoers (proposed)

Postby jatill » 09 Mar 2009, 23:10

We have lots of people doing development now, at all different levels of contribution. Maybe we can try to follow a few guidelines to help make concurrent development go a little more smoothly? Developers, let me know if you think this it too much work or doesn't make sense.

1) Make it clear if you are planning on being the next person to release. We can do this by designating the 'active developer' on the wiki.
2) Each person who is going to be writing any code should use their own chuck of addresses in Magic.exe. For example, I am working in the 1,21x,xxx section. This way, we can each work at the same time, and then just patch in our code without fear of conflicts. Again, we can keep track of what number are whose in the wiki.
3) When you post your release, start a new thread on the forum called 'Manalink Update', along with today's date. This is to make Bog Wraith happy :)
4) Make sure when you release that you have included the most recent release in your build.

Thanx jatill for doing your part in helping to keep things organized.

I really appreciate it, and so will our members. 8)

I have copied this info to the wiki and referenced it in the tutorial.
