Challenege 1-9: That's Not My Deck Issue?

I'm not sure if it's supposed to work this way, but when it tinkers with my deck, it doesn't just replace based on mana cost, it replaces the entire deck with utter crap (it'll give me a deck I cannot even cast spells with, i.e. blue spells with no blue mana sources, etc).

I'm using the deck aww1979 listed in his thread.

I've tried this with CirithUngol's and Gargaroz's version and it happens in both.

I'm not a huge fan of these challenges and can ignore most (some of the unlockable cards just don't interest me enough to worry about not playing them), but some, like this one, have cards I would enjoy messing around with.

Originally the replacement was limited because the pool card was...limited (due to the 2k limit), but now as the limit was broken the replacement is a lot more random since we have a lot more cards.

Gargaroz said he will look into it next patch.

Thanks for the heads up.

I've retried this several times and each time its a different handful or garbage I can do nothing with. Taking junk cards (without even the mana sources to cast them) into a match against some of the most insane tribal decks and tournament-staple decks....quite frankly that's not a challenge, that's just plain futility.

Well, when you have the Archenemy buff, all the challenges but one will be trivial, though need to bugfix the Commanders issue first...

if at least the junk deck have the right mana to at least last 2 or 3 rounds..but no blue and green deck with just 2 mountains and 1 plains,

is just pointless

I've searched a couple areas on the site regarding this challenge, but haven't seen a reply about whether this can be fixed. For a handful of patches now it seems to be the same problem.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but is the idea of this challenge to be, for example, if I put in a card my deck with a cost of 1RW, I'd get back the same or different card but still costing 1RW, and not 2R? The latter seems to be the case, but even that is not always certain. I make a deck with all gold cards, and the deck I get back doesn't have any gold cards. Nor does it even seem to adhere to the same mana costs. I received a deck with one mana and five mana drops when none were present in my original decklist.

If this has been addressed before I apologize for the duplicate question, but it's one of the last challenges remaining for me and I was looking forward to finishing it. If there exists an answer could someone post the link to the corresponding page.
