Re: Challenge Set #4 (Spoilers)

Life's a lich... I always thought it was something else...

My log.

Round 1:

died 2nd game. too much slivers in 2nd turn

Round 2:

died 2nd game. 3th turn 6 4/7 soldiers

Round 3:

died 1st game. 3 turn 5 soldiers attacking...

Round 4:

died 6th game. 3th turn muscle sliver winged sliver + time walk

Round 5:

died 1st game. AI starts with black vise, done.

Round 6:

Died 3rd game. 4th turn 3 2/2 spirits

Round 7:

Died 2nd game. Demystify

Round 8:

Died 3rd game. Kithkins... again, too many too soon

Round 9:

Died 3rd game. Kithkins... again, 5/5 first strikers with lifelink!~?

Round 10:

Died 1st game. 3th turn pridemage...

I really don't see any strategy... Just PURE luck...

In all these rounds I never had to battle against that red green mana deck, merfolks, the 4 cc artifact deck, or that blue white deck with the big arfifacts or goblins. Just hardcore kithkins and at least 1 power nine card in the first turn...

Just frustrating...

I copied the deck earlier mentioned in this forum...

i just wanna cry...

You're either pursuing a bas strategy, are not great at this game, or are just really unlucky. I tried aww's deck and got to round 8 on the first try. Then I concocted this brew and won it on the first try. Your opponent should never make it to the 3rd turn. I have no qualms about using the "bugged" interaction of Lich and Yawgmoth's Bargain. Also, I have already beaten the Pit challenge, making the Lich challenge quite a bit easier.

AAAAAAA What does it do????? :p I still have that one and Challenge Challenge in this set. I don't know if anyone has tried Challenge Challenge yet, but it is really hard, due to the tiny card pool. I tried a monoblue Trix deck, but it is far too slow without any mana acceleration.

Yeah, I tried a cascade deck (bloodbraid and bituminous), but it was pretty clunky and needed quite a bit of luck to get anywhere. Probably save this one for last (maybe the ???? unlocks will help out).

I got pretty far into this one using Trix, but it's also the last challenge I haven't beaten now. If you're an auramancer, I hear that pulling off the Trix combo is a bit easier.

I haven't played in months... New Update is AMAZING!! Gave Lich a try.
Here's my list. Two Words: Healing Salve. There's not much that's more broken than 4 Ancestral Recall in the same deck, there should be jailtime for something like this...

9 Plains
4 Flooded Strand
4 Marsh Flats
2 Chrome Mox
1 Mox Pearl

4 Soltari Priest
4 Soul Warden
4 Knight of Meadowgrain
4 Savannah Lions
1 Isamaru, Hound of Konda
3 Elite Vanguard

4 Honor of the Pure
4 Crusade
2 Ajani Goldmane
2 Circle of Protection: Red (CRUCIAL!)
1 Oblivion Ring

4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Healing Salve

I went through the challenge on the first try. The extra speed of the moxen will get those CoP: Red out on the first turn and save your ass from Lightning Bolts and what not. The sole Oblvion Ring might look useless but it really shines with a Worship or a Gauntlet of Might on the table... It's pretty shitty when you think you've got the game in the bag and then have to watch yourself fall into a bottomless pit when faced with an unkillable opponent or a horde of 12 1/2 Kobolds, tapped out with your opponent laughing at you at 2 life.
The Fetchlands work superb here when life is not important cuz they will thin out your deck at no expense, making valuable draws available with no drawback.

Hmm... I'll try that challenge again; maybe I can actually figure out what auramancer does :p

Oho! Auramancer makes your enchantments indestructible :p I just refused to pay upkeep on Illusions of Grandeur and it is still in play. Works pretty good with the Mystic Remoras I have in the deck, too :)

Anyone have any success with the Pit Fighter challenge? If so can someone post a possible deck list?

Well, I'll be damned :p I never thought of trying belcher with black... I think I'm going to steal your deck, put Street Wraith and Serum Powder in it, and see how I do :)

I modded your deck a bit and did well, but not well enough to beat the challenge, so either you got lucky or you are smarter than me :)

Land grant on bayou will (probably) fail because if you land grant the first card in the window, a bug causes it to fail, and Bayou is the first card alphabetically in most decks that contain it.
