Sealed - where are the cards?
by zosete » 14 May 2013, 00:02
I am a casual player. Been playing for 15 years, but I can't be bothered to customize my own deck. I love to deal with whatever random cards are thrown. I used to finish Shandalar with 300 cards decks, with every colour in.
Therefore I always play sealed tournament. I noticed Some of the new patched cards appear, but some seem to never make it. In the deck editor i think most of them belong to the astral category.
what packs should I choose to get the more recent patches cards? unlimited? 8th edition? Are there cards that i'll never be able to see in play in sealed?
If that's the case, is there anyway to construct random decks for solo dueling? i tried with the Random Singleton option -selecting "everything" I think- but it made me a deck with uncredibly old fashioned cards.
I'm really sorry about not getting the hang of this, but as I said before I am a casual and could never get my head around the difference between limited and constructed. Keep that in mind if you're so kind as to give me some advice
Thanks.

- Sealed has not been developed to include new sets,if I remember correctly there has been a "fix" to include new cards too if you select the 8th edition but most cards by far will be selected from 8th edition set.
- With Random Singleton just don't put everything but specifically modern sets and you are ready for random play.
- There is also Draft (in solo select Draft)choose 3 sets you want smaller numbers are older sets and bigger are modern ones, select cards, and when draft ends,go to deck editor find Draft 0 is your deck and edit it put basic lands and then go to solo duel and play against draft opponents 1-7.

Thanks once again. I recall you helping me with draft and sealed years ago.
Are we sure about the 8th edition? I was experimenting with a full 5th edition deck and ended up with a lot of cards i'd never seen before. Cards with Morbid and such, which should be way more modern than 5th, I guess. .

The cards are sort of distributed across most of the packs. For some reason, IIRC, the slivers are in Arabian Nights.
Anyway, I hope someone does some work on Sealed soon! It's still my favorite part, and I particularly like the option to play for ante.
