.528 1 Strip Mine
.126 16 Island
.17 1 Black Lotus
.169 1 Mox Sapphire

It's a little silly, but I based it on a paper deck I just made this afternoon, so I had to do it. Won about 13 games in the gauntlet, until getting hosed by some weird zombie thing that had an Ivory Tower and Graveborn Muse.

.1972 4 Mystic Enforcer
.1741 4 Gaddock Teeg

.1482 1 Tolsimir Wolfblood
.212 4 Savannah

.1721 1 Kjeldoran Outpost
.1985 4 Oran-Rief, the Vastwood
.740 1 Pendelhaven
.1499 4 Temple Garden

This is a fun casual deck I made tonight. It's got a bit of everything thrown in there, and all in creature form. Also, the lands are quite fun (I love unusual lands) so this deck was great, combining my love of creature decks with funky lands.

was toying around with "jund" decks. these 2 are not fully optimized but you´ll get the idea when you play it. pretty much plays itself without much thinking.
Bloodbraid Elf is OP in this. You establish a good board position with decent critters ,trading 2for1 a lot - rounded up with removal to clear the path.Broodmate Dragon is pretty much "plan B" for the lategame.

.1992 4 Putrid Leech
.1927 4 Sprouting Thrinax
.1337 4 Blightning
.646 4 Bloodbraid Elf
.1443 4 Broodmate Dragon
.1472 4 Terminate
.1937 4 Maelstrom Pulse
.802 4 Garruk Wildspeaker
.1204 4 Savage Lands
.241 4 Taiga
.12 4 Bayou
.1489 4 Bloodstained Mire
.1959 4 Verdant Catacombs
.9 4 Badlands
.926 4 Bituminous Blast

---
different "jund" version. (was just looking for a home for Violent Ultimatum and Oran-Rief, the Vastwood) its very simmilar to the deck above.
Garruk is a keycard here. multiple Oran-Rief can be pretty nasty , but usually the game is over before it really kicks in.

.911 2 Violent Ultimatum
.646 4 Bloodbraid Elf
.926 4 Bituminous Blast
.1337 4 Blightning
.1733 4 Tarmogoyf
.1937 4 Maelstrom Pulse
.1992 4 Putrid Leech
.12 4 Bayou
.241 4 Taiga
.9 4 Badlands
.1489 4 Bloodstained Mire
.1959 4 Verdant Catacombs
.1927 4 Sprouting Thrinax
.802 4 Garruk Wildspeaker
.1985 4 Oran-Rief, the Vastwood
.625 2 Sarkhan Vol

---
this one is casual again (build that a couple month ago - and ran into it with the "jund" piles in a gountlet. forgot about what the deck does and got my ass pounded.
the idea is to get a couple creatures into play (all with protection from something),clear the opponents creatures and strike with your unharmed creatures.very simple aswell.
warhammer + first strike creature can be hard to deal with if you can´t get rid of them fast.
i would replace the Death Grasp though - it can be surprising , but usually it is just way to slow.

.75 4 Earthquake
.182 4 Pestilence
.55 4 Dark Ritual
.1814 4 Wall of Reverence
.283 4 White Knight
.1543 4 Voice of All
.1472 4 Terminate
.9 4 Badlands
.216 4 Scrubland
.189 4 Plateau
.1515 4 Death Grasp
.1489 4 Bloodstained Mire
.239 2 Swamp
.188 1 Plains
.1267 4 Paladin en-Vec
.1781 3 Loxodon Warhammer
.1721 2 Kjeldoran Outpost

---
my attempt at a "merfolk" deck . just love the Cosi's Trickster in there.
just play a couple lords and runover the opponent.
could add fetchies if you feel you need them. personally i don´t like em too much in mono decks.

.1459 4 Merrow Reejerey
.150 4 Lord of Atlantis
.1926 4 Cosi's Trickster
.1565 4 Merfolk Sovereign
.1359 4 Silvergill Adept
.1726 4 Stonybrook Banneret
.1738 4 Cursecatcher
.1 1 Ancestral Recall
.249 1 Time Walk
.1717 4 Force of Will
.1420 4 Wistful Selkie
.499 1 Brainstorm
.126 21 Island
Retired a long time ago. I will not reply.

I like that first deck, Salbei. I haven't tried out Sprouting Thrinax yet, but I could imagine him being extremely useful in a lot of decks.

Hello people, I'm new here but I've read and used a lot of your advice on challenges and played with a all the decks I was able to find here so I thought it was about time to share. There are 14 decks in here and some of them I used to win challenges and some are purely for fun so I'll hope you'll enjoy them. Of course some challenge decks have only a slight variation on what you've already posted, but some are mine like Glimpse the unthinkable which I'm very happy with because it consistently mills the opponent on turn 4. I hope you'll enjoy

Very interesting deck and I am enjoying play testing with it.

Two things: 1) Curious about why you chose Harmonic Sliver. Is it just another safeguard to deal with artifacts & enchantments? As there are no other Slivers in the deck, just wanted to know your thought process on it.

2) Gemstone Mine needs to be unlocked in Challenge 2, so most people will not have access to it, me included. I substituted the 3 mines with 3 Scrubland as a little more Black mana with a need for a splash of White I think is in order.

I love Recurring Nightmare based decks. I really enjoyed playing with it back in the day. If I recall, I think it was Brian Selden that won a Worlds with a deck similar to yours. I have the deck in my collection of Worlds that WotC used to release every year. I really miss them and wished they would have continued to release them!

Thanks for putting this together. It takes allot of skill to play this deck properly, especially against a live opponent. I look forward to playing with, and tweaking it a bit as I experiment with it. 8)

Bog Wraith: I'm guessing that's exactly what the Harmonic Sliver is for. I used it for the exact same reason up about six posts in a WG weenie deck. Even the first harmonic sliver to hit play will destroy something, which might not be immediately obvious.

And yeah, Gemstone Mine is locked by Land Ho! which is one I still haven't unlocked, but pretty much any dual land in its place should serve.

Recurring Nightmare/Survival is really fun. I've done it in a couple of my 499 card casual decks in manalink, and it's great because it takes a lot of thinking to decide what to take and when. I am curious though whether you have considered Anger and/or Genesis for that deck. I found them quite handy, though I think Genesis is still bugged to shrink your hand size by 1 each use, or at least it used to be that way; I haven't used it for awhile.

Ya, that's what I was thinking too about our Sliver friend. I might rotate it out and try something else, creature or spell, that would help in getting Spirit of the Night into the graveyard.

And as for any dual land, totally agree! In fact, depending on any tweaking I would do, I would substitute any of the Gem Mines with which ever one gave me the mana I might need based on the cards changed.

This kind of deck has always been a blast to play. Challenging, skill intensive. Not for the new player. You need to have been around the block a few times before you tackle this deck.

Love it! 8)

I tuned it up a little. I don' like Pernicious Deed because it's a bit slow and you can't reuse it so, i put this sliver to kill enchantments/artifacts, i don't think it's useful to put Uktabi orangutan+somtheing else against artifacts/enchantments. I think Vampire Hexmage is a bit useless here, but i wanted to put something to deal with the plainswalkers.

Looks fun :) A couple of cards I put into my enormous survival nightmare deck include: (I should mention that deck was designed to be extremely casual :p)

Symbiotic Wurm (discard him to survival, then nightmare a 7/7 into play, then sac him for insects :D )
Broodmate Dragon (same idea, but make dragon tokens)
Loxodon Hierarch (same idea as your finks)
Protean Hulk (sac to get more dudes)
Siege-Gang Commander, Cloudgoat Ranger, Captain of the Watch, etc: (3 dudes each time you replay him)
Kiki-Jiki, Mirror-Breaker (combos beautifully with any comes into play or leaves play triggers on creatures)
Bloodbraid Elf (cascade him multiple times, and haste lets you keep attacking with him)
Angel of Despair (keep destroying permanents, even planeswalkers; a good replacement for hexmage perhaps)
Godsire (one of my favourites to reanimate :p)

I'm not necessarily saying you should use any or all of these, but I'm just giving you some ideas. Most of the above cost too much for anything other than an extremely casual deck. I do think the Bloodbraid Elf and Angel of Despair could find a home here without sacrificing any playability.

edit: Oh yeah, and Reveillark :p

Your mention of Symbiotic Wurm reminded me to post a deck I've been meaning to do so with for a while now. It uses Elvish Piper to get the Wurms out cheaply and Dark Banishing to get rid of them. Damnation is there to clear the board when facing other creature rich decks and/or get your Wurms. Zombify brings our Wurm friends back in play again! 3 Fallen Angel included for evasion or counter flyers and they work well when fed the hordes of Wurm tokens produced. Top the deck off with a couple of Tooth and Nail for digging/placing purposes & 4 Coat of Arms that make the tokens grow into monsters!

.1485 4 Symbiotic Wurm
.1258 4 Zombify
.12 4 Bayou
.996 4 Coat of Arms
.1007 3 Dark Banishing
.1275 4 Damnation
.68 3 Drain Life
.631 3 Fallen Angel
.91 6 Forest
.166 1 Mox Jet
.165 1 Mox Emerald
.239 12 Swamp
.1027 3 Elvish Piper
.62 1 Demonic Tutor
.1110 2 Phyrexian Arena
.1017 3 Diabolic Tutor
.517 2 Tooth and Nail*

The Drain Life would be further enhanced with the addition of Lake of the Dead that was just added by Gargaroz's new update, so I think I might try tweaking the deck by replacing a Bayou or two. Also, the 2 Phyrexian Arena are cards that you may want to experiment with or rotate out & use other spells for instead.

Thanks for the reminder! :)

Haha, now the huge insects by bogwraith reminds me of a deck I built... (but with squirrels, not insects)

squirrel power
;
;#oldgames

;4th Edition
;

.334 4 Personal Tutor
.352 1 Mystical Tutor
.629 4 Eureka

.1701 4 Deranged Hermit
.39 4 Clone
.15 4 Birds of Paradise
.1804 4 Noble Hierarch
.165 1 Mox Emerald
.169 1 Mox Sapphire
.17 1 Black Lotus
.230 1 Sol Ring
.251 1 Tranquility
.1529 1 Akroma's Memorial
.1250 4 Wall of Blossoms
.1363 4 Elvish Visionary
.91 13 Forest
.1892 4 Elvish Spirit Guide

I ran a few different versions of this deck at one point, but this is the only one I didn't delete, and it seems to be one I did not optimize; however, the basic idea is still here.

Play a couple weenie mana generators, then drop Eureka. Play everything, and hope that you either have Regal Force or draw into it with Wall of Blossoms or Elvish Visionary. You will draw some cards from regal force. Since eureka is still on the stack, you then can still keep playing all those cards, which hopefully included another Regal Force or a Clone for him. Repeat as needed until you have drawn pretty much everything, being careful not to deck yourself. Play Deranged Hermits and Clone them (also boosting the power of Regal Force dramatically) and play Coat of Arms (not in this version for some reason) and Akroma's Memorial. At this point, you attack with about 2500 damage worth of squirrels. (assuming you had the coats of arms that I missed here) Summoner's Pact should be in my list, too, to get Regal Force normally.

I tried these squirrel decks on one of the challenges; I can't remember which one anymore, but I wasn't able to beat whichever one I tried it with.

So yeah, probably ditch wall of blossoms for coat of arms, and tranquility and a couple other cards for Summoner's Pact. (The tranquility was a relic from a challenge mode, I am pretty sure)

Here's a new one that I just built using some of the newer cards added in the last 2 updates.
I just LOVE me some recursion decks baby! :P

Dead and Rebury!
;B & R
;Bog Wraith
;
;07/01/2010
;1
;4th Edition
;

.753 4 Ashen Ghoul
.171 4 Nether Shadow
.738 4 Krovikan Horror
.354 3 Buried Alive
.1924 3 Recurring Nightmare
.773 4 Hell's Thunder
.881 4 Hellspark Elemental
.435 3 Khabal Ghoul
.750 2 Vein Drinker
.379 1 Bogardan Hellkite
.1136 2 Burst Lightning
.1472 2 Terminate
.239 12 Swamp
.924 4 Dragonskull Summit
.164 4 Mountain
.9 4 Badlands

Ashen Ghoul & Nether Shadow can hit fast with haste, or chump block and with help from the Krovikan Horror, fill your graveyard to your heart's content. They are also both very good fodder for sacking to the Recurring Nightmare once you get creatures in the ground with Buried Alive, or from both the use & loose nature of Hell's Thunder or Hellspark Elemental. Using the Recurring Nightmare sac method is a great way to keep the flow of these two Red hasties going without needing to use the Unearth activation unless your side of the table is waiting on a Recurring Nightmare to enter. While this conveyor belt of corpses runs through your graveyard, a few Khabal Ghoul get nice n' fat on the bodies. Yum Yum!

The Bogardan Hellkite is great for evasive as well as giving you tremendous speed via it's instant playbility to inflict 5 points of damage whenever needed! The Vein Drinker is also good for evasion & has the added bonus of sucking down a Red mana to trade damage with any creature on the table. Both creatures. especially the Hellkite, can really be taken advantage of via the Recurring Nightmare method!

Top this off with a couple of Terminate to handle any creatures you might need help with and a couple of Burst Lightning that can act as kicked up Shock.

As always with a new deck, it's a work in progress so have at it and tweak it and post about your thoughts & changes.
