.469 4 Mind Funeral
.610 4 Glimpse the Unthinkable
.473 4 Nemesis of Reason
.1041 4 Archive Trap
.1717 4 Force of Will
.720 4 Mana Drain
.468 4 Scalpelexis
.1984 1 Traumatize
.55 4 Dark Ritual
.258 4 Underground Sea
.642 1 Volrath Stronghold
.1633 4 Watery Grave
.1487 4 Polluted Delta
.923 4 Drowned Catacomb
.49 4 Creeping Tar Pit
.959 2 Halimar Depths
.1484 4 Diabolic Edict

I don't know anything about standard right now, but this was my attempt a couple days ago at an extremely similar deck. The only restriction I placed on the deck was 'no restricted cards', so no p9, windfall, demonic tutor, blah blah.

Obviously, much of my deck isn't standard legal, but I figure maybe there are some ideas in there. I'd probably remove my Glimpses for more removal, which is fairly similar to what you did with assassins and deathtouch creatures. I didn't calculate an 'average' mill for Mind Funeral, but I'd guess it is at about 11, and I liked it more than Glimpse the Unthinkable almost every time.

If it's still legal, I'd use Archive Trap in place of Tome Scour. It mills more, it's an instant, and it's free if opponent has fetchlands, tutors, and so on, which is most decks. I really like Halimar Depths, too, and having just a couple (two in my case) felt about right, particularly when other lands are also coming into play tapped. Fortunately, I also found the deck doesn't really care that much about lands coming into play tapped, particularly on the first turn, when there's nothing to do. (though you do have Hedron Crab)

If you want it standard legal the Polluted Delta have to go (replacing them with 2 black and 2 blue fetches won't change much). The mana does seem a touch funky, with so many double blue and double black spells, and only 21 land. If you're running any deck with 4 Cancels, I suggest playing 24 lands- at least 18 of them blue sources. Same logic for Gatekeeper, as he is your only hard removal. I'd drop a Cancel, a Negate, and a Nighthawk or Gatekeeper to make room.

Apologies for not attaching a deck file, but I think the best mill deck in standard is something like this:

4 Ranger of Eos
4 Knight of the Reliquary
4 Hedron Crab
4 Noble Hierarch

4 Path to Exile
4 Archive Trap

2 Terramorphic Expanse
4 Misty Rainforest
3 Arid Mesa or Marsh Flats
3 Scalding Tarn
4 Island
4 Plains
4 Forest

That leaves 12 slots to play with, and those colors have a ton of good options.

Oh, sorry for Polluted Delta, I thought it was standard  ! I did not verify in gatherer!

aww1979,
You're right about Archive Trap, it's much better than Tome Scour!

discoransom,
Thanks for the ideas, I'm already thinking in a U/B/W deck, and I'll use your suggestions!

Thank you guys!

That's an interesting list and looks very fun to play. Honestly I never considered a standard 4 color mill deck, but I have to build one now =D> And of course I can't help myself from making suggestions...

-1 Garruk Wildspeaker
+1 Birds of Paradise

I think you always want a turn one play that will more often than not accelerate your mana. Also gives you another chance at hitting a turn 3 Ranger of Eos.

-1 Wall of Denial
+1 Maelstrom Pulse

Just because the card is so damn good. Wall of Denial is similar to a piece of removal, but Pulse can hit any type of permanent for the same mana cost.

-3 Arcane Sanctum
+2 Misty Rainforest
+1 Marsh Flats

Fetches are stronger than come into play tapped lands most of the time, and you really want that turn one play- and you never want to lose tempo to a tapped land. Also more fetches for your crabs is a great thing.

Thank you discoransom! :D

I'll do the changes you suggested, and see if it gets better!

I'm only afraid of the great lost of life due to the fetches! :?

EDIT

Ok, I tested the deck, and liked very much! I'll only maintain 2 Garruk and 1 Birds, because I think that Garruk is awesome in this deck!

Thanks again!

So:

Extinction of Mind

.91 4 Forest
.126 4 Island
.1625 3 Marsh Flats
.1834 4 Misty Rainforest
.188 3 Plains
.239 3 Swamp
.1959 3 Verdant Catacombs
.1043 4 Hedron Crab
.1041 4 Archive Trap
.588 4 Path to Exile
.1941 4 Ranger of Eos
.15 1 Birds of Paradise
.802 2 Garruk Wildspeaker
.1804 3 Noble Hierarch
.1968 2 Lord of Extinction
.473 2 Nemesis of Reason
.929 2 Wall of Denial
.1937 4 Maelstrom Pulse
.469 4 Mind Funeral

I thik that in real world, a sideboard like this would be nice:

SB

3 Countersquall
3 Flashfreeze
3 Doom Blade
3 Meddling Mage
3 Haunting Echoes

Hey no problem- I'm glad my wasted years playing this rubbish was helpful :D

It took me a long time to learn how good fetches are, and now I run them in almost every deck
