Is there any way to improve the AI?

So I finally got the game and have everything patched and setup. I', loving being able to see these decks in action but the AI feels lobotomized. Even when i play against the decks that came with DotP the ai will just discard instead of playing lands it has and not cast spells and discard some more. Is this a result of the new content or is there some other reason my AI is acting so poorly? I have the AI's difficulty turned way up and it just seems terrible at knowing what it should do.

I suggest you beat the first 16 opponents. Once you beat them you will get a message stating that they will be more challenging going forward.

That "might" fix your issue.
