Chittering Rats - Wrong Artwork? (Duels 2014)

I'm just curious about something... There's a deck in 2014, Masks of the Dimir, and there's a couple of Chittering Rats in it, but when I look the card up online, all of them have artwork done by Tom Wänerstrand which is from the Darksteel expansion. However, the game uses different artwork from a different artist, Yeong-Hao Han. Don't get me wrong, the artwork is nice and I prefer it to the Darksteel artwork, but I'm just curious of the artworks existence. Did Stainless screw up and get the wrong artwork for the card or is the artwork a promotional thing for the game only?

My guess is that they simply made new art for it which only appears in the game's version of the card. If they release it in a future set, I'd be willing to bet they'd use the DotP art for that release (unless they just make another version of the art).

Have they done that often? I just feel like that's kind of an odd thing to do. I mean, artwork already existed of it and it wasn't printed, wouldn't it have just been easier to use the original artwork?

I think it might be related to the fact that the artwork they already had was kind of old and not the best quality. They'd want all of the cards in the game to have artwork of roughly the same quality, and that quality is pretty good, so making new artwork for it so it matched the feeling of all of the others seems logical. But, I've never looked to see the artwork of any other cards that don't match the printed ones.
