get crash when download step is done. I don't get any alert from bitdefender of blocking 7zip or part of files from bin folder but the program still crash, any theory for this error?

Hi aidscoi, thanks for reporting! To work on this problem I need the logs and to know your current version.
In my PC I allways upgrade Mtgdb.Gui to make sure update does not fail. So when you still get a crash it cannot
be reproduced in my pc, this is why I need the logs to see what has happened.

P.S. one theory comes to my mind. Thinking of your report I discovered that I forgot to protect data\index\keywords\<current index version>\
from overwrite when extracting downloaded .zip with new version. I will fix this in 3.0.6

Hi i send the log folder of ver 3.0.5 ( error after finish downloading ) and ver 3.0.7 ( error when push update button )

Also create desktop shortcut not working ( i've remove desktop from protected folder list, allow all files from Mtgdb.Gui from bitdefender )

The program fails to find \update\version.txt file.
Install 3.0.8.0 manually, the problem will not appear in future updates.

Hi, from after the first day update to new version 3.0.9.1 i got virus alert from Bitdefender ( although i add folder and exe file in the white list ). Even the ico file also named as virus infected. From early version the antivirus just block the mtgdb.gui.exe file from version folder and shadow_play folder and can be get rid of by my method above but now it get instant block by antivirus. Even i turn off the antivirus, i can open the app several minutes before some important files been block again. Maybe you can re check the file to avoid this situation

Hi! I checked my package with DrWeb to make sure there is no virus on my side. And there is no virus.

You are either actually having a virus that infects Mtgdb.Gui files.
Or getting false positive.

First we need to rule the first possibility out.
To do this please create a .zip with all Mtgdb.Gui\bin directory and send me.

If it is too big to attach to a post I suggest using https://drive.google.com or similar.

On my PC I will compare it with the files I have.
If they are modified - then it's a virus, otherwise a false positive.

Once we know for sure we can take further action.

Some file been block even in compessing progress so i'm not sure if you can compare them ( but as the antivirus alert even the ico file also list as infected ). I think it a failed alert ( error with even older version ) but don't know how to get rid of this issue, any running activities make the AV think this app look like Gen:Act4.Detection virus ?

I think these files not blocked from AV, 16/39 files from app folder been blocked to create copy into shadow_play folder.

Other files besides Mtgdb.Gui.exe are not corrupted.
But, until I can see your Mtgdb.Gui.exe there is still a possibility that you have it corrupted by actual virus.

So, if you unzip one of old versions, for example Mtgdb.Gui.v3.0.0.zip from update\ directory to a completely new installation directory you still get antivirus warning?

Hi, as the mtgdb.Gui copy version of Shadow_play folder can't be create and the main file from 3.0.0 folder also been blocked so i upload the file from folder 3.0.0

So do you get the warning after manually unzipping 3.0.0 to a new directory and running from new location?

I was hoping the warning was produced by some recent change in code, so I could at least rollback some changes and see if you still get the warning.

Hi, after i move into new HDD ( same HDD with the old folder of mtgdb.Gui still block the app from running even turn off all shield of AV )the app is running if i turn off AV, it still inconvenient as i have to turn off my AV but hope bit defender with new update can use it own whitelist, allow app list efficient not like issues i got.

I will try to change the way shadow copying works, maybe the program copying itself from bin\v3.0.0 to bin\_shadow_copy makes BitDefender suspect a virus.

Unfortunately it will not happen sooner than 25 december when I return from vacations.
