DOTP Win10 install

Magic the Gathering 2009 Edition (Updated March 2010)
and have tried the install instructions in the MTG 2010 readme file but it just hangs every time when launching the installer. The window pops up and music plays but it fails to progress through the launch animation to the install buttons.
Tried compatibility modes and running as admin in comp mode. Nothing gets around this issue. Any ideas?
