Re: How can I fix this AI?

Shatterhouse, it seems like the AI works properly when both you and the computer are using the same dataset in the decks files; ie. either change their dataset to COMMUNITY as I suggested above, or put CHANDRA/planeswalker for your own dataset like you suggested. (I haven't tried the latter method, but wouldn't that mean custom cards won't be included?)Shatterhouse wrote:I think I have a workaround for the AI's seeming retardedness when playing against your custom decks.
Instead of using DATASET="COMMUNITY", try DATASET="Chandra" or another planeswalker instead. I suspect this field is a signal to the AI that tells it what to look for in its opening hand, and maybe how to play against the deck.
Gessepi, I certainly don't put it forward as a surefire fix because I know there are other bugs (like computer attacking with a black creature when I have a creature with protection from black; or computer committing suicide with earthquake), but it works for me as far as the "tired" AI problem goes. It works for my first match and for as many matches thereafter as I care to play.gessepi wrote:Thanks for the advice about changing to <DATASET name="Community"/>. Question is, is that a sure fire fix? because i tried and it really only works on the first deck i play, any rematches or even proceeding to the next deck they seem to give up again.
I have read elsewhere that for some people the AI works for the first match only and then stops working, and then they have to exit and restart the program to get it to work again. But I've never had that particular problem and my AI has gone from never working (for custom decks) to always working after I made the dataset changes.
