DotP2012: Adding a new campaign
by thefiremind » 17 Nov 2011, 20:07
Did anybody manage to add a new campaign successfully in a custom DLC? I did the following things:
1) I copied the CAMPAIGN3.XML file in my DLC, then renamed it to CAMPAIGN5.XML.
2) I opened CAMPAIGN5.XML, changed the internal ID from 3 to 5 and changed the internal campaign name to "CUSTOM_CAMPAIGN_NAME".
3) I copied the PLATE03.TDX file in my DLC, then renamed it to PLATE05.TDX (it defines the background of the campaign).
4) I added <Campaign_Content/> in the INFO.XML file in my DLC.
5) I added the localization text for "CUSTOM_CAMPAIGN_NAME" in my DLC's GLOSSARY.XML file.
6) I repacked my DLC.
The game finds my campaign and loads it. The problem is that my campaign is always listed as the first one in the upper tabs (before the core campaign), so it takes the PLATE01.TDX background instead of the 5th, and all the other campaigns take the wrong background since they are shifted one place further. Everything should work anyway, but graphically it's a real mess! Is there something I have to do in order to force the game to list my campaign as the last one?

I unpacked his DLC 7777 and there's no new campaign. He made a new campaign in his previous mod but he replaced the existing Revenge campaign with that, so it doesn't teach me how to add a new one. Maybe he found the same problem... I hope he finds a workaround.
Thanks anyway for the reply.

Well, its true, the problem with Dotp2012 is that all seems hardcoded, and every time you try to change something, a new problem appears.
Sad but true, its a pity people try to focus on DotP 2012 and forget about original Dotp, which is more friendly user.
Anyway you better ask him, cause he its the only one that really got the knowledge about mod Dotp2012 completely.
