Collectible Card Game Headquarters

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask if anyone knows if it is possible to unlock all decks' cards I have locked, but also keeping the ability of playing with them online, as if I unlocked the cards one by one.

Me and a friend recently lost our save files due to some Steam Cloud error and I am really not interested on paying for unlocking cards we already unlocked in the past, especially for an error I do not feel I am responsible for, not even a penny.

So I hope someone can provide me with an alternative solution..

Yes, it is possible.

The only method I know will work for a fact (though not for foiling the cards) is to unlock all of the on a cracked version of the game (like the Theta version) by clicking the unlock full deck buttons in the deck manager, restarting the cracked version so the changes take effect, modifying each deck a little (like adding and/or removing a card from the deck) so that the deck manager will ask if you want to save that deck. Then once all decks have been saved by the deck manager, exit, port the saved profile to the steam version and you should have all of the decks fully unlocked.

You should do that procedure without any mods installed on the cracked version or it is possible that the official decks won't be saved to the profile.

It may also be possible to do without using a cracked version if you do some minor modding on the Steam version then once you've unlocked the decks through modding remove the mods. For example adding Rick's dll, then modifying an AppId Linking mod to unlock all decks using AppId 97330 or AppId 0 (I'm not sure which one will work), changing each deck so that the game will save them to the profile, then remove the modified AppId Linking wad and rick's dll and they should (theoretically) still be unlocked.

RiiakShiNal thank you for taking your time responding to this; I will attempt to do as you said by downloading the pirated version, however I would also like to try the second method you provided.

I have tried and installed mods in the past, so I am good until the Rick's dll part but beyond that I have no idea how to modify an AppId Linking mod or identify their versions. In any case, I downloaded yours just now and I will give it a try, but I bet I should do something additional which I do not really understand how.

If you find some time to elaborate more it would be much appreciated, till then I will do my best to manage this on my own if possible - hope I figure it out if you don't have time to talk some more about it.

PS: We are also interested on unlocking the DLC decks, Expansion 1 and Deck Pack 1 & 2, is it possible?

Yes, it is possible to unlock the DLC decks from Expansion 1 and Deck Packs 1 & 2. Though it should be noted that for the DLC decks to be available to you at all you must have purchased the expansion/deck packs otherwise the AppId which will unlock expansion content (and allow you to use the decks) will not be available. It is just a matter of making sure they are in the APPID_LINKING.TXT file during the procedure.

As for the second method of unlocking without the cracked version basically it is these steps. Though whether it will actually work or not I can't verify because I don't have the Steam version. The important part is getting the "unlocked decks" to save to the profile as once they are in the profile they won't need the AppIds to be present to keep them unlocked.

1. Unpack a wad with APPID_LINKING.TXT (like Data_Core.wad, Data_DLC_8192_AppId_Linking.wad, Deck_9999_Unlocks1.wad, etc...) in it using Gibbed Tools.
2. Modify the APPID_LINKING.TXT file so that all official decks have 97330 or 0 for the unlock and/or premium foil ids like this excerpt (you may need to add expansion and/or deck pack decks to the file):

3. Either re-pack the wad using Gibbed Tools and put it in the game directory or use the wad in it's unpacked form (copy the directory inside the "_unpacked" directory to the game directory).
4. Put Rick's dll (d3d9x_43.dll) into the game directory.
5. Start the game.
6. In the deck manager modify a deck's configuration so that the deck manager will ask if you want to save that deck.
7. Repeat previous step for all decks.
8. Exit game.
9. Remove the mod with the modified APPID_LINKING.TXT file (restoring the original file if you used a base game wad like Data_Core.wad).
10. Remove Rick's dll.
11. Done. All decks should now be unlocked when you start the game again.

Amazing, it worked!

I used 97330 and it worked fine; gave me all cards and foil to every single deck including DLC decks which I purchased!

Removed Rick's dll as you suggested, but at the beginning I forgot and had an online game with it just fine regardless. I will further test to see if everything works and if anything comes up, I will report back.

Glad it worked for you.

Rick's dll is just used to disable the WAD signature check allowing modded wads to be used. I had assumed because it would change the in memory signature of the game that you may not have been able to connect to other people for online play (unless they also had Rick's dll).

Further testing is something that is usually greatly appreciated by everyone on the forum as it gives us additional information about what can and can't be done with the game.

Hmm its not working for me with the new DLC, if i change all to 97330 it unlocks everything, but after i change the decks > save > and put back the original files, everything BUT sky/scales and 5color is unlocked.. the blue/black deck is fully unlocked though. Anyone else have this problem?

It's possible that WotC forgot to increase the the profile size to account for the new decks they added and they hit the profile deck limit that we lament here.

lets hope they bump it up to 50 or so

The problem is with mods we already have well over 50, one person on this forum reported having more than 260 decks.

What they really should do is remove the deck/profile size limit (like it was in DotP 2010) as each deck only takes about 92 bytes (this is an estimation as some decks seem to take a little more space). It's not like we are talking huge space requirements.

Who was that?! I'd be great if this person would share any that haven't been posted here. I've downloaded most that I could find I don't think I'm anywhere near 260!

Sorry, I was off (by a hundred), it was only over 160 reported by Berserker here. Just goes to show my memory is definitely not the best.

Anyone know if this is fixed yet? haven't seen an update via steam yet, but might have missed it.
