Card Viewer

Postby ryanblue13 » 21 Feb 2013, 00:38

Has anyone already made a program for a card viewer (where you can see the full image of a Card, like the real cards) or a deck maker that shows the whole card?, I'm trying to make one but I really dont know where to start. for MTG 2013 anyone?

I haven't tried it yet, but maybe this is what you are looking for:

I was trying this application too, because it looks very very useful and optimal GUI, but it gave me an error when I try to upload in the software the XMLs I have "the ACTIVATED ABILITY in line xx doesn't runs with the TRIGGERED ABILITY in line xx, press Continue to try to ignore this or Exit to stop the operation"

Now I thought it is something like
<ACTIVATED ABILITY>
</TRIGGERED ABILITY>
Or something that make the same ability with a special way, because my XMLs come from WADs, so it is strange if there are similar mistakes, so something like
<ACTIVATED ABILITY>
</ACTIVATED ABILITY>
<TRIGGERED ABILITY>
</TRIGGERED ABILITY>

In each case it would be useful that the program discover a code's error, so (if it said also the card with it) I could correct
But the problem is that after discovered this error if I press Continue it equally crashes, making impossibile to see the list :(

You mean the basic information of card (no code)? I use this to search cards:

Some how I doubt that is what you are asking though.

Are you talking with me? If it is I'm looking for something like this but only for the XMLs I have, as that firemind suggests
So if I need to code a card with Cycle, I can search the cards with it I have, it is useless to find cards with it from all sets if I have not the XML

I was thinking, it would be possible with this or similar software to search cards for text and not for name?
For example to coding will be more useful to search "Whenever a creature..." or "Deals damage to..." and not the name

A second think about this software yet: the cards viewed have no images, how to add them? There is a wad in official game to open to copy all the images without download all them a part?

When I need to do this, I use a program called DepecheView which can be easily found with Google and is freeware. It lists all the text files in a given folder allowing you to search inside them all at once.

It seems very difficult but also useful
It is possible to set a starting folder without searching every time?

You can achieve that result by making a link to the executable, then adding the folder path in the link's destination, for example my link points to:
Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files\DepecheView\dview.exe" "C:\Games\Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013\Modding\dotp-2013-cards"
