So just spitballing here,
How viable would it be to add in a game mode?

Yes. Sadly.

Although, if the mode is similar enough to another format, it might be possible to approximate it. For example, it's possible to approximate EDH. Not easy, and the best approximation we had so far is still not very good, as far as I know (I don't play EDH in person, let alone digitally, so I didn't track it, really).

Interesting, EDH was the format I was thinking of.
